Why old cars are so great
Last December , I was visiting my son who lives in sunny California. We took a ride to Pomona swap and meet , and I saw this beautiful Buick super 8 from 1946.
It’s not in great showroom condition , the paint job is “ average” , the interior is vintage but it runs and drive daily powered by its quiet and powerful fireball 8 engine.
It may not be rational , but the sound of an engine, the scent of an interior, the patina of an old pickup truck are just making me happy and I feel like a child when I seat behind the steering wheel .
In a way I just continue doing what I was doing since young age when my dad was taking me to the nearby junkyard to play in the wrecked cars and trucks : having dreams and enjoying life.
