Need to convert or recover your driver's license into a danish one?

You have to convert your driver's license within 180 days after obtaining a permanent residence in Denmark and you are not from the EU or EEC.

What you need to do:
Go to the local Borger service - Aarhus - Dock 1
You have to bring:
1. A medical certificate issued by your own doctor (NB! Only if you have a driver's license not issued in the Faroe Islands, in Greenland in an EU or EEA country)
2. You also need to bring a medical certificate if your foreign driving license expires in the near future. The Danish driver's license will get the same expiry date. However, a maximum of 15 years.
3. A photograph
4. your driver's license
5. A valid passport
Valid residence or residence certificate if you are not a Danish or Nordic citizen or legally stay in Denmark without permission.
If you don't pass the theory test 1. time - you lose your license to drive in Denmark - and don't get it back before you pass a theory and the practical test!
We can help you to pass 1. time.
There are a lot of issues you need to know - difficult to do that yourself or just with an online system - we recommend urgently class teaching!

1. Online education system with 40 tests
2. A short book and a checklist
3. Theory - fast class, possibly 17 days, 2 times a week

Saturdays 1 pm to 4 pm
Wednesdays 4 pm to 7 pm

Are you thinking of new tires for your car?
Now, it's soon season for winter tires,
and in the spring - summer tires.
However, due to rising temperatures, this is changing!
All-season tires are definitely worth considering!
Winter tires
The compound (the tires' mixing ratio of rubber and plastic additives) is now so good that all-weather tires often have better friction to the ground than winter tires - due to the fact that the Danish winter roads are almost always free of snow and ice (we use salt to keep the roads frost-free).
Summer tires
All-weather tires also have better friction in the summertime, because we often have wet roads or greasy roads due to fallen leaves or driving with agricultural machinery on the highways.

Conclusion - think of all-weather tires in Denmark - you also save the hassle of having two sets of tires lying around or for storage.
Remember though!
If you are going on a winter holiday, it is important to find out about the tire demand - could be required with winter tires (perhaps even chains) - applies for example in Norway and Austria.

You should use winter tires if the temperature drops to less than 6 degrees

Most accidents happens because of too little distance to vehicles in front.

You need to have at least 2 sec. - same as the half speed in meters.

Eg. If you drive 40 km/h - distance to vehicles in front has to be at least 20 m.

120 on the motorway - distance at leat 60 m.

The fine for not complying with these rules it is not only dangerous - it can get expensive too. If you don’t have the right distance, you risk of getting a driver's ban a clip and a fee of kr. 2.000,-
