Let's face it, we've all heard of the 1.5 TSI engine because it's in just about every model within the VW Group. Over the last few months, we've been calibrating a new software solution for the non-GPF (DADA) engine variants on our own in-house vehicles.
This 1.5 TSI calibration is much more than just peak figures. Although we make some strong numbers from the little 4-cylinder, we’ve really focussed on improving the overall driving experience; plus we've refined 'quirks' such as flat spots throughout the rev range and cold start hesitation.
Features include:
• ECO, Normal and Sport drive modes optimised for driving feel.
• Cold start and warmup optimised to remove kangarooing/stuttering.
• Cold start catalyst heating removal.
• Idle RPM increased from 750rpm to 800rpm, this can contribute to a smoother pull away.
