Such a beauty! 2 wheel drive, 450hp, 3.000Nm, 120kg. First two of these will go to the most nondescript cars imaginable: MB W124–4matic. Hope to use it in sports cars soon.

Setting off to Wave2017. I skipped driving the Speedster the last 2 years, since this is a nice weather car. 2014 was spectacular, I pray Louis Palmer took care of the sun in Switzerland this year too.

41. Annual Meeting of the Porsche 356 Club in Potsdam. 140 original 356s and one electric Speedster – the Lion's den.

This is a very elitist gathering of friends of the Porsche 356. From Coupes, to convertibles to the most valuable variant, the Speedster, all kinds of 356s embarked on a 280km roundtrip arround the lakes near Potsdam.

Naturally a replica is hardly worth a look. Fibreglass instead of metal is considered blasphemy. If that "plastic" car has better acceleration than a 356 Carrera2 it makes matters worth. Some of the participantswere quite open minded and sympathized with the idea of going electric. Most of them of course thought it's a no-go.

After overtaking a convoy of 6 cars on a particulary nice stretch of an alley, we set a sign for the electric drive train and gained at least some respect. Not having to charge on a trip like this, driving like that was another score.

Sadly cars like this are rarly seen on the road these days. Speedsters costing up to 400.000€ in mint condition make them too precious to drive them often. What's better then a exact replica of your favorite Speedster? No maintanence, no break downs, no gas, no smell. Pure driving fun like you never had in an original. Leave the Porsche in the museum and take the electric 356 out on the road.

New client in Austria, who invited me over to his house on Millstätter See. Couldn't say no, the weather was perfect to take the amazing 356 electric Speedster on this trip. Didn't set foot on the autobahn once – only tiny roads through fascinating mountains. Going up and down GrossGlockner high alpine road in an electric car is a class of it's own. Allthemore in the Speedster which is probably as close to nature as it get's before switching to a motorcycle. Gasoline cars are loud and smelly going up (nasty fumes) and going down (burnt brake pads). Electric cars are very much different. No noise, no fumes and recapped energy down the slope. It's very rewarding watching the fuel needle move to full again :–)

Summertime ist Speedstertime. It hardly get's any better than driving the Speedster in country roads around the local lakes back home to Munich.

The reason why people go to a gas station and want to fill up quickly is because they can't do this at home :–) Brillaint. That's not an advantage after all.
