1993 500 GE 6.0 AMG available now:
«The G “Hammer”» In 1993, Mercedes presented the 500GE-V8 to the public with the announcement that only 500 units would be built. Of the planned 500 vehicles, only 446 were actually built. Most of the Mercedes fans didn't recognize, that 446 examples of the 500 GE V8 even exist. Imagine how unknown the AMG version with the 6.0L displacement engine is. AMG o icially converted only 13 examples and replaced the 5-liter V8 with a 6-liter V8 engine. Called the Mercedes 500 GE 6.0 AMG, it had a 6.0-litre V8 engine under the bonnet developing 300 HP. One of the 13 o icially converted examples, this car has a very well documented history with only two owners since arriving in Norway in 1997 until 2023. It was delivered new and converted at AMG in 1993 (A alterbach, Germany, not AMG JAPAN) – and stayed in Germany with its owner until 1997. With 46.000 KM on the odometer, it was imported to Norway in 1997 by Autocenteret Fjeldstad, the biggest Factory customer ever in Graz with over 4000 cars imported and sold by them. Norway in the 1990s had a big Luxury tax (like Netherlands) and Autocenteret Fjeldstad therefore changed newly imported 463s to old frames (W460) to avoid this tax. This also happened to this car and it is therefore registered on a 1980 frame. The Service and maintenance history on this vehicle is impressive, with invoices showing in excess of 70.000 Euros spent at Mercedes Dealers and Autocenteret Fjeldstad in the period – the latest being a body restoration and paint at 20.000 Euros + parts in 2021. We refurbished the KE Jetronic, installed new side steps and serviced the air conditioning system. Various parts of the ignition and fuel supply were also renewed. The vehicle starts immediately, shifts smoothly and the air conditioning is ice cold. The car is delivered with o icial documentation and certificate from AMG confirming its identity and matching numbers engine from the conversion in 1993. The car presents impressively for its age both outside and inside, and represents a unique opportunity to own the ultimate Pre-Merger AMG Geländewagen – to be enjoyed in its very nice original condition or completely restore for a 0 KM restoration for one of the rarest AMGs in the world. Additional note to American buyers: The auction price includes a closed transport to Bremerhaven (port for shipping to FL/NY/CA/TX) and the export paperwork in Germany! We can also organize a door-to-door transport to you. The container and import costs pays the buyer. Feel free to contact me for further info.
