During his very first sailing experience aboard a Sirius, one of our prospective owners discovers just how intuitive steering from inside the deck saloon can be.

Using the small rotary dial on the Raymarine Power Steer controller, he takes direct control of the rudder …and is immediately amazed by how precisely and sensitively the yacht responds to even the smallest movements.

A little practice, a few turns of the dial… and suddenly he’s confidently performing his very first tack entirely from the inside helm!

No automatic tack. He’s actually steering the yacht himself!

A proud moment for the entire Sirius team!

Our head of apprenticeship training, Wilko, congratulates Tom on becoming State Champion in Boatbuilding!

Tom now has qualified for the German National Championship in Boatbuilding!

We are keeping our fingers crossed for Tom!

As German language skills are essential for an apprenticeship at Sirius, we’ll continue in German. 🇩🇪

Bei uns lernst du nicht nur einen Beruf, du erlebst, wie aus unzähligen Einzelteilen eine individuelle, hochseetaugliche Segelyacht entsteht.

Von der ersten Bauphase bis zur fertigen Yacht bist du dabei und durchläufst sämtliche Bereiche unserer Werft: Holzverarbeitung, Kunststoff- und Metallbau, Klebetechnik, Elektrik, Sanitär und moderne Yachttechnik.

Mittendrin statt nur dabei: Vom ersten Tag an übernimmst du Verantwortung und arbeitest aktiv an unseren Yachten mit.

Abwechslung garantiert: Kaum ein anderer Beruf vereint so viele unterschiedliche Materialien, Techniken und handwerkliche Fähigkeiten.

Remember where Captain Jack Sparrow lost all his rum?

Right here! 🏝️

The Sirius 40 DS „Gryps“ anchored just off Petit Tabac, a tiny, uninhabited island in the Tobago Cays, deep in the Grenadines.

This little piece of paradise became famous in „Pirates of the Caribbean“: The Curse of the Black Pearl, when Elizabeth Swann burned Captain Jack Sparrow’s precious rum to create a signal fire and attract a passing ship.

Today, it’s still a place straight out of a pirate movie. White sandy beaches, lush tropical vegetation, turquoise water and coral reefs all around. Far away from the crowds, surrounded by nothing but the Caribbean Sea.

One of those anchorages that remind us why we sail halfway around the world.

And fortunately, our Sirius 40 DS has everything on board to enjoy paradise without having to burn the rum! 😉

The moment a yacht stops being a project and becomes a home.

„Bonny Lee“ has officially been handed over to her happy new owners: Kelly, Mike and of course Lucky the parrot. 🦜

For us, the handover is always one of the most emotional moments of the entire build.

After years of thinking, comparing and making decisions, followed by months of planning, anticipation and excitement, there is suddenly this one day when everything becomes real.

The owners step aboard their completed yacht for the first time not as visitors, but as the people who will call her home.

A long-held dream becomes reality and at the same time, a completely new chapter begins.

For Kelly, Mike and Lucky, that chapter starts with „Bonny Lee“.

Next week, she will be transported to Neustadt at the Baltic Sea, launched and fully rigged before her first test sails begin.

And we are already very curious to see how „Lucky“ the parrot performs during his first harbour manoeuvres. 😜🦜

Following the Sirius 35 DS being named Judges’ Special Recognition Winner in Cruising World’s 2026 Boat of the Year Awards, Herb McCormick has now published his full review of the yacht.

And his headline says quite a lot:

“Swiss Army Boat.”

Because aboard the Sirius 35 DS, there is often more than first meets the eye.

A true deck saloon.
Inside steering.
Two separate cabins.
A proper head and separate shower.
Remarkable storage.
And even a full technical room and workshop.

But intelligent use of space has never simply been about fitting more into 35 feet.

Every space and every solution has to work at sea.

That combination of seaworthiness, thoughtful engineering, craftsmanship, sailing performance and genuine liveaboard comfort is at the heart of the Sirius concept.

The final days before handover are always something special.

„Bonny Lee“, currently the most advanced Sirius 35 DS in production, is now entering the very last stage of completion here at our yard in Plön.

These final days are all about precision, care and countless small details. Our team is giving every surface, fitting and corner its final attention before her owners come to take over their new yacht in just a few days.

For us, this phase is one of the most rewarding moments of the entire build.

Piece by piece, the protective films and temporary coverings that have safeguarded the floors, decks and wooden surfaces throughout months of construction are removed. And suddenly, for the first time, the yacht reveals her true character.

The craftsmanship becomes visible. The materials come together. And that warm, homely atmosphere that is so characteristic of a Sirius can finally be felt throughout the yacht.

As always, Bonny Lee represents countless hours of genuine craftsmanship and hand-built detail.

Her first adventures will begin in the Baltic Sea before she heads towards the North Atlantic, where her owners are planning to spend the winter aboard in Scotland.

And they will not be sailing alone. Their parrot will be joining them on board. 🦜

That unusual crew member even influenced part of the technical concept: as gas is not suitable on board with the parrot, this Sirius 35 DS has been designed around a 24 V electrical system with an electric oven and induction cooking.

Over the next few days, we will take you along for the final completion, launching and first test sail of „Bonny Lee.“

Together with our yacht technology engineer Lukas, we will take a much closer look behind the scenes of this particular Sirius 35 DS and give you some deeper insights into her technical concept, systems and the thinking behind them.

Annapolis Boat Show is calling again.

Next week, one of the highlights of the international sailing calendar begins: the Annapolis Sailboat Show 2026.

Unfortunately, Sirius Yachts won’t be exhibiting in Annapolis this year, but we will be back in 2027, and we’re already looking forward to meeting many familiar faces, owners and new Sirius enthusiasts again.

Until then, here are a few impressions from last year’s show:

Our boat show yacht „Selkie“ had not simply been transported to Annapolis. Her owner collected her in Germany and sailed her from the Baltic across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean and eventually north to the Chesapeake Bay and Annapolis — covering large parts of the journey single-handed.

Quite a journey to a boat show.

And while we won’t have a yacht on display in Annapolis this year, Sirius is already much closer to North American sailors than many might think.

Today, nine Sirius yachts are sailing in the USA and Canada, with two more yachts soon joining their American owners.

So if you are seriously considering a Sirius and would like to experience one in person, please get in touch with us. Whenever possible, and with the agreement of our owners, we are happy to connect interested sailors directly with Sirius owners in the US or Canada and help arrange an opportunity to see a yacht locally.
