From motorsport team to global performance engineering company in 30 years
Three decades on, Manthey’s engineering expertise is embodied in these new special edition models: the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR 30 and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30. Limited to 15 units each, these vehicles are exemplary additions to the Manthey lineup. Both offer more performance than the cars they are based on, yet remain approachable tools to operate—especially in the hands of amateur drivers.
“Both car models incorporate the insights we have gained over the last thirty years and embody what has been our focus ever since: maximum drivability and pure emotion,” says Helmut Brakhage, Director of Race Cars at Manthey.
The GT3 Cup (Typ 992.1) represents the evolution of the Cup MR philosophy, with further improvements to aero, suspension kinematics, and cooling. A newly developed 560hp 4.2-liter engine, which revives a development concept from Olaf Manthey’s early vehicle projects, provides 50hp more than the previous 4.0-liter.
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30 is the final stage in more than a decade of development. Carbon fiber bodywork, advanced aero, optimized cooling and a new suspension package bring together developments from its GT4 Clubsport MR, Trackday MR, Leichtbau, and Clubsport M programs. The resulting car solves some of the rear-axle-limited Cayman’s shortcomings—cooling, turn-in stability, and braking stability—without the limits of homologation.
As with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR 30, the cooling concept is based on a central radiator layout and is complemented by optimised brake cooling, with brake air ducts derived from developments on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport EVO.
The new car add to an incredible portfolio of Manthey special projects, including the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25, which was present for the unveiling.
Orderss will be accepted until October 30, 2026 with Cayman deliveries set for November, and GT3 Cup units in early 2027. Both models in the US, estimated to cost $390,000 and $580,000 including freight and import duties, will be offered through Porsche Motorsport North America.
