That’s 5,000 trips around the earth – driven by our customers on real roads, in real life, using the BMW Highway Assistant in their own vehicles. A clear proof our our system’s strong everyday value.

Closing the loop, step by step ♻️

At Plant Steyr, around 9,000 tonnes of aluminium chips were recycled in 2025 – more than the Eiffel Tower’s steel structure. Collected, remelted and cast into new components in Landshut, the material returns to Steyr where the cycle begins again.

Our Recycling and Dismantling Centre sits at the heart of our Design for Circularity approach – dismantling up to 10,000 vehicles a year to recover valuable materials and inform future development.

In the new BMW iX3, secondary materials already account for up to one third, while high-voltage batteries re-enter the production cycle through closed-loop solutions.
