🔥 Error of the month at Hella Gutmann!
Audi A4 2.7 TDI, built in 2008: The engine just wouldn't warm up – the display stuck at ~70°C. Thermostat replaced? No solution. Water pump replaced? Also no solution. 🤯
The hot tip came from our technical call center: suspected problems with venting or a defective coolant regulator on the EGR cooler. Bull's eye! The regulator was broken and blocking the circulation. Replaced, vented again – and everything was running smoothly. ✅
👉 Lesson learned: Always think about the coolant regulator!
💡 Around 90 experts, 10 languages, one goal: guiding workshops to the solution.

🔍 CSM vs. SERMI: In fact, the SERMI argument resembles the justifications of some manufacturers for blocking access to the system data of their young vehicle models. The pioneer was the Fiat Chrysler group. Others followed. In response to this trend, we at Hella Gutmann have implemented the Cyber Security Management (CSM) function, free of charge for garages. A function that is worth its weight in gold, because without it, communication with the secured vehicles could no longer take place.
The SERMI directive is something different: It specifically concerns access to theft- and safety-relevant RMI on the manufacturer portals. In addition, the EU Type Approval Regulation 2018/858 affects all vehicle manufacturers and their vehicles that are on the market in 27 EU countries.
