‚Abyssal Threads 1‘ - Ring by Lulu Tian!

Material: Fish scales, glycerine, brazilwood natural dye powder.
Size: 91 x 22 x 65 mm.

“…Ultimately, ‘When The Ocean Left Its Dead Alive’ envisions jewelry as a living entity - an organism that drifts, evolves, and dissolves back into the sea. By turning waste into a poetic material, the project offers an alternative narrative of adornment: one rooted in the rhythms of the ocean, in transformation, and in quiet ecological resilience…”. Lulu Tian.

Brooch from the CANG series - by Jiangling Wang!

Material: fine silver wire, steel wire.

“The CANG series draws inspiration from textile craftsmanship, exploring the interaction between tools, techniques and materials in the formation of jewelry structures. Silver serves as the primary medium, hand-twisted into various wire forms, then woven, assembled, and reconstructed to examine the flow and the rhythm between lines…” Jiangling Wang.

I am delighted to present the works of the winners of the PREZIOSA YOUNG 2026 / International Young Artists Competition in an exhibition at my gallery!
The jewelry pieces by Lulu Tian, Nga Ching Ko, Jiangling Wang and Lois Lo clearly demonstrate the depth and consistency with which the award winners have engaged with their respective material choices and techniques.

A biodegradable material developed by Lulu Tian and dyed with natural substances is transformed into jewelry, designed to accompany us for only a short time before returning to the ocean’s cycle. An approach that is as ecologically responsible as it is poetic.

Nga Ching Ko transforms fragments of clothing found in thrift stores or used clothing drives into exquisitely artistic brooches, using the traditional Japanese Kimekomi technique. The choice of each fabric remnant always reflects a piece of the former owner’s life.
For her textile-like works made of silver wire, Jiangling Wang has created special tools that allow her to constantly reshape the wire. The result is many things at once - vibrant, meditative, powerful and delicate.

In her jewelry, Lois Lo captures the essence of gemstone use. Through her experimental stone settings made of medical-grade stainless steel, she achieves a minimalist design that yields to the stones impact.

I look forward to welcoming you to the opening of the exhibition on May 23th, 2026, starting at 12pm!
