Das greenBEAR Formula Student Team entwickelt und baut jedes Jahr einen elektrischen Rennwagen. Entscheidend ist aber nicht allein dessen Performance.

HTW Motorsport ist ein studentisches Projekt an der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin. Ziele dieses Projektes sind die Konstruktion, Fertigung und Vermarktung eines Formel-Rennwagens, sowie die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an einem internationalen Hochschulwettbewerb – der Formula Student. Ende der 70er Jahre wurde dieser Konstruktionswettbewerb von der Society of Automotive Engineers als For

mula SAE in den USA ins Leben gerufen. Seit 2006 findet die Formula Student, veranstaltet vom VDI, nun auch in Deutschland statt, somit ist der HTW-Motorsport von Anfang an dabei. Unter Beachtung verschiedener Maßgaben soll ein Rennbolide gebaut werden. Wichtige Kriterien sind auch die Konstruktion, Finanzplanung und Verkaufsplanung. All diese Aspekte werden am Rennwochenende in Hockenheim bewertet. Dazu tritt das Team mit seinem Fahrzeug in verschiedenen dynamischen und statischen Disziplinen an. Eine Jury von Experten aus der Automobil- und Zulieferindustrie schaut den angehenden Ingenieuren über die Schulter und bewertet jeden Aspekt des Fahrzeugs. Durch die Teilnahme an diesem Projekt zeigen Studenten Eigeninitiative und Engagement, erhalten aber auch tiefgreifendes und fundiertes Wissen über die reguläre studentische Ausbildung hinaus. Zusätzlich werden die Soft Skills jedes Einzelnen gefördert. Dies und die Kontakte zur Industrie, welche während des Projektes geknüpft werden, verschaffen ihnen zukünftig einen Wettbewerbsvorteil auf dem Arbeitsmarkt. Dieses Jahr nimmt das HTW-Motorsport Team bereits zum zehnten Mal in Folge an der Formula Student Germany teil. Mit dem BRC15 (Berlin Racing Car 2015) wird das Team eine komplett neue Generation Berlin Racing Car auf den Asphalt loslassen.

FSPoland Day 6:

Today was the big day. The 22km Endurance race.

Following yesterday's Autocross session, we identified a delamination issue in our monocoque that required immediate action. The entire morning was spent in the pit box performing composite repairs to restore structural integrity.
A huge thank you to , , , .racing for lending us materials, tools, and hands to get the job done.

Thanks to that combined effort, we cleared re-inspection and lined up in the out-of-order running slot to start our stint.

After completing the opening laps, an unexpected electrical issue surfaced on track, forcing us to retire early from the run.
While an endurance DNF is a tough outcome after an intense week, getting the car prepped, inspected, and across the dynamic stages with our entire crew was a major achievement.

FSPoland Day 5

Today was Track Day.

We started the morning with the acceleration and skidpad event, where we secured our first two runs and times. Afterwards we went straight to the pit to do some checks and a fast driver change, before we went back on the track again.

Our best official times from the morning sessions:

- Acceleration: 5.295 s
- Skidpad: 6.068 s

In the afternoon, we prepped the car for Autocross and successfully had our first run. A minor issue with the chassis mounting led to a disqualification on our final run of the day, but the team resolved the issue in the paddock in the evening and also today in the morning.

- AutoX: 01:15.696 s

With the car prepared and technical checks done, we are ready for the main event: the 22 km Endurance race.

FS Poland - Day 4
Our fourth day started with the Cost and Manufacturing Event (CME), where we defended our production choices and cost calculations in front of the judges.

Right after CME, we queued for the tilt table test, which was open already for cars that passed mechanical and accumulator. Our BEAR cleared the 60-degree tilt smoothly, and we moved straight into our electrical re-scrutineering slot, which we officially passed.

We rolled directly into the rain test just as golden hour hit the circuit, making for a scenic picture before pushing straight over to the brake test. The car locked all four wheels on the very first attempt and secured the final stickers required to make us ready for the track.

To wrap up a long day, we took part in the official flunkyball tournament and secured our first win of the event

All technical checks are complete, and we are fully set for the dynamic disciplines tomorrow.

FSPoland Day 3:

We started the day early in the morning with our first static disciplines: the Engineering Design Event (EDE) and afterwards the Business Plan Presentation (BPP), where we presented our BEAR26`s technical concepts and fictional business idea to the judges.

Right after the statics, we headed straight back to the scrutineering tents for re-inspection. We resolved yesterday's open points, successfully passed both the accumulator and mechanical scrutineering, and secured our first two official stickers on the car.

In the evening, we entered electrical inspection. While we made solid progress, a few points remain open, meaning we did not get the final pass today and will head into electrical re-scrutineering tomorrow again.

FS Poland – Day 2:

The second day was all about scrutineering, the rigorous technical inspection where every single detail of the race car is checked against the rulebook.

We narrowly missed getting the final checkmark in both the accumulator and mechanical scrutineering sessions today. In both cases, only minor adjustments and formal details are required, which the team is already addressing. We are in a solid position moving forward.

Between the inspection slots, we joined the rest of the paddock on the main straight for the official panorama and team photo.

Tomorrow morning, we head straight into re-scrutineering to clear the remaining items and get the car out on track as soon as possible.

After already being successful at FSAA we are more than happy to have another week in Poland.

FSAA - Day 5:
We started our day testing in the practice area, where we caught a few technical issues that we had to fix before heading out to the track.

With the car sorted, we lined up in the queue for Autocross, but hit a setback when an issue was found during Pre-Inspection, sending us straight back to the pits.
We immediately started to find the issue and resolved the problem under some time pressure, and cleared Re-Scrutineering just in time for one AutoX run.

Our first and only AutoX run went really great and we locked in a lap time of 53.919s!

Huge shoutout to the whole team for pushing through.

FSAA - Day4

We kicked off the day with the Business Plan Presentation (BPP), pitching our business model to the judges. Straight after, it was time to hit the track: we rolled out for our Skidpad and Acceleration runs, getting our first dynamic points on the board! 💨

In the afternoon, we were back in the pits defending our car concept and production calculations during the Engineering Design Event (EDE) and the Cost and Manufacturing Event (CME).

We also had the opportunity to do a team photo.
Because of a heavy storm the formation lap was sadly cancelled.

FSAA - Day 3
Today was a rollercoaster of emotions.

We kicked off the morning heading straight into Electrical Re-Scrutineering after yesterday’s Rain Test setback. We cleared that quickly and prepared the car, and lined up for Rain Test attempt number two. The tension in the team was unimaginable, but everything was sealed and we passed with zero issues!

Next topic: the Brake Test. It definitely tested our nerves, because our first three attempts were unsuccessful. Back in the queue, we changed our setup as much as possible in the queue, and on our 6th and final attempt of the day... WE PASSED!

All scrutineering stickers are officially on the car! We are extremly proud on this success and we are ready for the dynamic disciplines!
