DOUBLE PODIUM FOR Maxime Renaux #959 AND Tim Gajser #243 IN SWITZERLAND 💪💪💪
The MXGP of Switzerland proved to be a great success for the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Team. Both Maxime Renaux (second) and Tim Gajser (third) finished on the box in cold and muddy conditions in Frauenfeld. #959 and #243 now sit fourth and fifth in the championship standings.

Gajser claimed his first podium for Yamaha in Spain last week, and it left him wanting more. The Slovenian started strongly on Saturday with a third place in the qualifying race, which gave him a good gate pick. However, he was unable to capitalize on that advantage in race one. Gajser got off to a poor start and crashed twice. Overtaking proved difficult on the muddy track, and he had to settle for ninth place.
In race two, Gajser showed his true class. This time, he got a strong start and followed it up with several impressive passes – including one on reigning world champion Romain Febvre. Pushing hard, Gajser set his sights on second place, held by Jeffrey Herlings. He applied heavy pressure, and when the Dutchman crashed, Gajser moved up into second. That was enough to secure third overall, marking his second consecutive podium finish.
Gajser: “It was a strange and inconsistent weekend, but I’m trying to focus on the positives. Like the strong qualifying race and the second race, where I got a good start, quickly found some solid lines and made a few nice passes. It’s a shame about the crashes in race one. But I can’t complain – I’m back on the podium again. Consistency is very important, and my raw speed is improving week by week. That’s something I can build on.”
#959 Maxime Renaux
Renaux was slightly frustrated last week in Spain after narrowly missing out on the podium. His objective in Switzerland was therefore clear: finish inside the top three.
After a poor start and some mistakes in the opening corner of the qualifying race, Renaux had to fight his way through the pack. He did so impressively, climbing from P15 to P5 – a promising performance. He carried that momentum into Sunday’s opening race, where he quickly moved into contention and settled into fourth place. Riding a smart race and avoiding unnecessary risks, Renaux advanced to finish second.
The second race proved more challenging. After a mediocre start (ninth), Maxime struggled to find his rhythm and eventually crossed the line in seventh place. However, that was enough to secure second overall in the Grand Prix – his first podium of the 2026 season.
Renaux: “I’m quite satisfied with my weekend. Especially the qualifying race and the first race were very positive. In the second race, I was riding a bit too tense, and I’m not happy with that. But in the end, I still finished second overall, which is a solid result. I know there’s still work to do, but I’m ready for it. We’re on the right track, that’s clear. My first podium of the season feels great, and I want to keep this momentum going.”
