It was a team effort with every one taking a turn in the chair, Jason, Tyler, cru, Bruin and finally Greeny who brought the fish to gaff! Probably the largest yellowfin we have boated on the kingfisher in recent years

We went 2 for 3 on sails and put a nice wahoo on the deck a couple of days ago. Typically June, July and August has been great months for fishing in Costa Rica

We had new friends,Neil, Chris, Dave and Jackie out with us this past week. Fishing had been up an down for the past week, “fins one day feathers the next”, but this crew was super optimistic,we had a cooler full of b**r and w**e, the weather was perfect and the seas were calm.
After a very quiet morning we spotted a tangled long line with several buoys attached and a bit of splashing going on. As we pulled upto the line we saw the commotion was caused by a spinner dolphin embroiled in the line. It was at this exact moment that there was an explosion on the short right teaser, a huge blue marlin was focused on lunch. My mate Orlando made the switch and after a couple swings and misses we had her screaming line off a 50 wide.
The long and short was, after prolonged battle Dave knocked a 400lb plus blue off his bucket list, we went back to the buoys and were able to cut loose the dolphin as well.
