The FAA is taking a closer look at corrosion in dozens of thousands of Piper singles, and the message is clear: inspect early, inspect often. Recent reports of corrosion on forward wing spar attachments for certain PA‑28, PA‑32, PA‑34, and PA‑44 models are prompting heightened scrutiny and reminders that hidden corrosion can compromise structural integrity if left unchecked.

For Piper owners and operators, this is a timely reminder to stay current on airworthiness directives, follow recommended inspection intervals, and partner with trusted maintenance teams who can access and properly inspect these critical wing‑spar areas.
