Protecting our oceans starts long before waste reaches the water.

Circular economy principles are helping industries reduce waste, conserve resources, and keep materials in use for longer.

At Autoneum, circularity is a strategic sustainability priority. We continuously work to reduce material waste, increase recycling capacities, and improve resource efficiency across our operations.

In 2025 alone, we implemented 55 waste-reduction projects across 25 locations worldwide, helping divert nearly 3,000 metric tons of non-hazardous waste. Initiatives included recycling production materials in plants in Germany, Brazil, and the Czech Republic, helping keep valuable resources in circulation.

On World Ocean Day, we are reminded that every effort to keep materials in use and out of the environment contributes to protecting the ecosystems we all depend on.

At Autoneum, 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 training means being prepared for all kinds of situations – even unusual ones.

After a few snake sightings around our South African plant in Rosslyn, 10 colleagues volunteered for practical 𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 to learn how to respond safely and calmly in case of future encounters. The team learned how to identify venomous snakes, respond to bites, and safely handle species commonly found in the area.

A big thank you to our colleagues for stepping forward and demonstrating how awareness and bravery help create a 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞. A special note of appreciation to the trainers – and their slithering “assistants.” Don’t worry: all snakes were handled with care, and no animals were harmed.
