BMW Diesel Engine, with 3 turbos pushed this G60 Nissan Patrol through out in Australia, owned by . The BMW N57 40D is paired with a 8HP70X transmission behind it, with the additional of a Garrett G42-1200c to feed more boost to the existing sequential turbo setup from the factory BMW engine. The small turbo is an OE unit for scale...This 12 cylinder VW Lupo has 4x Garrett turbos and 2x VR6 engines in a tiny chassis—the result of .Motorsport and their Romanian-built “Bi-Moto” racecar used for RoDrag Racing (1/4 Mile). Twin 3.6L VW VR6s (front and rear), each built from HardBlok-filled factory blocks with water-cooled cylinder heads, and each running a compound turbo pair—a Garrett GTX5533 feeding a Garrett G42-1200—for four turbos total. There’s no transfer case here; the “AWD” effect comes from the layout: the front VR6 drives the front wheels, and the rear VR6 drives the rear wheels, effectively two complete powertrains working in parallel. Each engine is backed by its own VW DQ500 7-speed automatic, coordinated so both drivetrains accelerate together under load. In this latest configuration, it’s been reported at ~3,000 hp combined in typical trim with capability quoted as high as ~3,600 hp and running 7.7-second quarter mile at 194 mph.🏁🚗💨

Glen Riley's 1st Gen Mustang makes 1135whp on a Mainline dyno with a Garrett G45-1500, super clean and tidy build inside and out. tuned this first gen Mustang, powered by a Ford Barra inline-six and upgraded with a Garrett G45-1500 turbocharger, Haltech ECU, Powerglide transmission, CO₂ boost control, and E85 fuel.

The car previously ran an 8685 Gen 2 setup, but the owner specified that he wanted better response and was tired of the lag for street driving and roll racing. After switching to the Garrett G45-1500, the combination delivered 1135whp on a Mainline dyno🏁🚗💨

Daniel Hume's S13 made the switch this year to a Garrett GXR45-82 from a 8385 setup from a different turbo brand and immediately saw an increase in boost pressure up top, as well as spool

Previously, the car had been 4.68 @ 153 mph in the 1/8-mile with his old PTE 8385 turbocharger, but the setup had reached its limit at 51 psi of boost and was simply maxed out. After upgrading to the Garrett GXR45-82 (very similar in size to the previous setup), tuner was able to push the same engine combination to 55 psi, with more still left in it, resulting in an increase to 1,239 WHP, from the previous 1,153whp (see chart for comparison of red line being the old turbo and blue being the GXR)

According to Daniel, the Garrett setup delivered the kind of changes racers look for when evaluating a turbocharger swap: “The Garrett spools faster, holds more boost up top, and the back pressure is lower.”

Even more impressive, the GXR45-82 was turned down (8psi less) below what the PTE 8385 setup had run at full tilt, yet the car still went 4.71 @ 153 mph, meaning the GXR was already right there while being run more conservatively, on an engine that was four years old with rods that had been in service for six years.

That engine is now undergoing a full rebuild with a Dart block, 3.2L crank, dry sump, and head — setting the stage to turn the GXR45-82 up properly to see what the car can really do. 🏁🚗💨
