Positive Jerez Winter Test Sets Up 2025 Development for Pata Prometeon Yamaha.

Pata Prometeon Yamaha and its riders Jonathan Rea and Andrea Locatelli took to the track for the final time in 2024, finishing off two days of WorldSBK winter testing at Circuito de Jerez in warm, sunny conditions today.

Stepping into his new role, Crew Chief Oriol “Uri” Pallares led the #65 side for the first time with the team welcoming highly-experienced technician Gregory Rebeyrat. Rea finished the test with a fastest lap time of 1'38.452, less than one tenth from the top of the timing sheet.

While a crash at Turn 7 before lunch slightly restricted running for Locatelli today, the #55 side was able to make positive progress on Day 1 with 77 laps and continue to working through the test programme later this afternoon.

Across a combined total of 241 laps, the focus was on a combination of chassis and electronics strategy improvements while simultaneously fine-tuning the individual R1 WorldSBK set-up for both Rea and Locatelli.

The next development test for Yamaha’s engineers and Pata Prometeon Yamaha will take place on 22-23 January, returning to Jerez once again before two further days at Portimão before the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship opening round at Phillip Island, Australia.

Uphill sprint for Aprilia Tacing at MotorLand Aragón

ESPARGARÓ CRASHES IN THE FIRST LAP, VIÑALES COMES NINETEENTH, OLIVEIRA FINISHES THE BEST APRILIA IN FIFTH PLACE

The good feelings that Aprilia Racing had on Friday, when all four bikes were in Q2 for the first time in MotoGP, were not confirmed on Saturday, also because of the track conditions, which had little grip and were dirty due to the sand that had fallen due to the rain during the night.

Aleix Espargaró finished Q2 in eleventh place, affected by the precarious grip. At the start of the sprint, the Spaniard lost grip on the dirtiest side of the track and when he reached the first corner he was unable to stop and ended up on the ground. Fortunately, he did not suffer any serious consequences.

It was also a complicated day for Maverick Viñales, who qualified from twelfth place. After a difficult start, the Spaniard also suffered from a lack of grip on the track and was unable to show the race pace he had on Friday. Viñales finished the sprint in nineteenth position.

The 2024 machines also feature a longer wheelbase, a new frame, and a revised seat height, improving cornering behavior while keeping their renowned stability. The Vitpilen 401 further benefits from new handlebars that offer reduced weight for highly responsive steering.
Housed inside an updated steel trellis chassis, the 2024 Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 are powered by a new 399 cc, single-cylinder engine delivering increased performance, paired with improved weight distribution and a revised gearbox. Combined with a new aluminum swingarm, the motorcycles’ much-loved nimble handling gives excellent rider feedback. The Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 also share key technology, including cornering MTC, switchable ride modes, adjustable WP suspension, ByBre brakes and Bosch cornering-sensitive ABS that delivers powerful stopping. Easy Shift technology allows clutchless gear changes, while a 5” bonded glass TFT display, premium paint finish with decals, and 17” wheels complete the unmistakable style of the Vitpilen and Svartpilen models.

Aprilia Racing shines at Silverstone.

POLE POSITION, LAP RECORD, AND PODIUM IN THE SPRINT RACE FOR ESPARGARÓ, VIÑALES EIGHTH

A record-setting pole position for Aleix Espargaró who was unrivaled in Q2. No one had ever lapped as fast on a flying lap at Silverstone, with a time of 1'57.309. In the sprint race, after losing a couple positions at the start, Aleix stayed with the leading group throughout. Espargaró finished third, making this his third podium finish in the sprint race after the one in Qatar and his win in Montmeló.

Maverick Viñales' start in the sprint from eighth place was complicated by an electronic anomaly found in the single ECU. A lack of feeling in acceleration further penalized his sprint race, which he finished in eighth place.

Boss Hoss Cycles, Inc. was established in 1990 when Monte Warne, the founder of Boss Hoss Cycles, Inc., created his first Chevy V-8 powered motorcycle in his 5000 square foot shop in Dyersburg, TN. Monte, a commercial aircraft pilot and degreed Aviation Airframe and Power plant technician, was the first to design a V-8 powered motorcycle that has a traditional cruiser motorcycle style, look and feel. This was accomplished by his unique approach to the motorcycles single speed (one gear) transmission design. The right angle drive transmission allows the length of the bike to be kept to a minimum and the engine-mounting inline with the frame made for a well-balanced design that is unequaled by any other V-8 powered motorcycles.

Over the past 28 years Boss Hoss Cycles, Inc. has grown from its humble beginnings in Monte’s shop to a 22,000 square foot manufacturing facility. The product line has also grown from the conventional two-wheeled motorcycle to include three wheeled vehicles commonly referred to as trikes.

The product has seen significant improvements over the years through the R&D efforts of Boss Hoss Cycles’ in house engineering personnel and specialty contractors. Features like a 2-speed transmission with reverse, inverted front suspension, vacuum formed body panels, investment, cast structural frame components, and many other specially designed components have helped improve the rigidity and ride of the Boss Hoss motorcycles.

Boss Hoss has continued to broaden and expand the V8 motorcycling horizons. In January of 2006 Boss Hoss motorcycles and manufacturing facility received full vehicle type-approval from the European Commission (EC), effectively making Boss Hoss Cycles, Inc. the only globally approved V8 motorcycle manufacturer. At the release of the 2012 model trikes with 4L70E overdrive transmissions and air ride suspension as standard production, Boss Hoss once again put the motorcycling world on its toes with the introduction of the new Boss Hoss Super Sport model. The Super Sport is the first new model design by Boss Hoss since the release of the 502 model in 2000. The lower seat height, shorter wheelbase and increased suspension travel, makes it feel like you’re part of the Super Sport… not just on it. This latest creation from Boss Hoss was designed to attract a wider range of motorcycle enthusiasts. In the true innovative spirit that brought the Boss Hoss to life, these dream machines will continue to astonish the most diehard motorcyclist.

Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin model year 2025.

The 25 CRF1100L Africa Twin places a strong emphasis on off-road capability and offers the look and feel of a sleek rally machine. Its 1,084cc inline-twin engine produces a maximum torque of 112 Nm with a peak power of 75 kW. Two options are available: the CRF1100L Africa Twin with Showa suspension as standard and the CRF1100L Africa Twin ES with Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (Showa EERA™). Showa EERA™ offers optimized damping in all riding conditions as well as the ability to change the rear axle spring preload on the move. The CRF1100L Africa Twin ES also features an ACC charging socket and heated grips as standard, just like its sister model, the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports.

Both Africa Twin variants share a robust steel frame, an aluminum swingarm derived from the CRF450R, chassis geometry, suspension travel and ground clearance. Tubeless tires allow for easier repairs without having to remove the wheel.

A six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) controls not only the 7-stage HSTC, but also the 3-stage Wheelie Control, cornering ABS (with off-road setting), Rear Lift Control and DCT cornering detection. There are four standard driving modes: URBAN, TOUR, GRAVEL and OFF-ROAD.

The riding position is designed for complete control, featuring a narrow seat and high-mounted handlebars. Dual LED daytime running lights (DRL) provide optimal visibility and improve safety, and cruise control is fitted as standard. To make long road riding more enjoyable, a 5-way adjustable windscreen is fitted to the aggressively styled front fairing, offering maximum forward visibility or increased wind protection depending on the rider's preference.

A full-color 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen with Multi-Information Display (MID) enables comprehensive interaction with the machine's systems, as well as Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto® and Bluetooth connectivity.

The 25 CRF1100L Africa Twin will be available in three paint schemes, all featuring striking new graphics:

Grand Prix Red
Matt Black Metallic
Pearl Glare White with **NEW** Pearl Hawkseye Blue Metallic Tricolor (only available for the CRF1100L Africa Twin ES)

Indian Motorcycle Challenger RR and FTR750 entertain the crowds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Indian Motorcycle was ready to entertain at last weekend's prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed with the thrill of the big-bore Challenger RR and the sideways flat track action of the FTR750, as legendary racer Jeremy McWilliams piloted the King of the Baggers race car and Brandon Robinson brought his American flat track expertise from the USA. Rubbing shoulders with the best riders, male and female, and vehicles from all forms of motorsport, the Indian Challenger RR offered festival-goers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the thunderous sounds of the King of the Baggers race car as Jeremy McWilliams smoked the Challenger RR's rear tire during full-throttle burnouts on the famous Goodwood Hill. And it wasn't just the spectators who were impressed, as famous names from motorcycle racing history gathered around the Challenger RR on the start line to ask McWilliams what it was like to ride and race.

To give collectors a chance to own a piece of history, only 29 Challenger RR customer motorcycles were produced to celebrate the 2022 King of the Baggers crown. Built to the same specifications and with the same equipment as Tyler O'Hara's No. 29 championship bike, interested collectors should contact their Indian Motorcycle dealer as soon as possible to secure the last available motorcycles.

The Indian FTR750, which absolutely dominates American flat track racing, conquered the Goodwood Hill in the capable hands of Brandon Robinson, who has collected nine wins and 23 podiums over the past five seasons and is currently third in the 2024 SuperTwins standings with his Mission Foods Roof Systems FTR750.

Stepping in for Wrecking Crew rider and nine-time American Flat Track SuperTwins Champion Jared Mees, who was unable to travel at the last minute, the chance for Robinson to be part of Britain's famous celebration of motorsport culture, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, was a truly unique experience.

With seven consecutive American Flat Track SuperTwins championships since Indian Motorcycle Racing returned to the series with an all-new design, the FTR750 is the most coveted motorcycle in the Flat Track world due to its combination of a powerful 750cc V-twin engine and an ultra-light steel frame, developed in-house by Indian Motorcycle Racing. FIM EWC: BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team aims for another top result at the Suzuka 8 Hours.

In the 2024 FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC), the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team will be competing in the only overseas race and a real classic next weekend (July 19 to 21). The 45th edition of the Suzuka 8 Hours in Japan marks the third round of the FIM EWC season. The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, with BMW Motorrad factory riders Markus Reiterberger (GER), Ilya Mikhalchik (UKR) and Sylvain Guintoli (FRA), is looking to repeat last year's strong result in a field full of Japanese teams. In 2023, the #37 BMW M 1000 RR finished sixth. This made the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team the best European team and it was awarded the corresponding Le Mans Award.

The Suzuka 8 Hours has always been the most important race of the year for the Japanese manufacturers. That's why they send a large number of strong teams to the start. In preparation for the weekend, the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team completed two days of testing in Suzuka in June. Further test sessions followed this Wednesday. The climate in Suzuka is a challenge for everyone: high temperatures combined with very high humidity are among the special features of this racing event.

In addition to the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, no fewer than five private BMW teams will be competing in Suzuka. In the Formula EWC, these are the TARO PLUSONE with SDG team ( #6) with Taro Sekiguchi (JPN), Kyosuke Okuda (JPN) and the reigning Canadian Superbike Champion Ben Young (CAN), the SHINSYUREN with TOTEC team ( #42) with Isami Higashimura, Shuichiro Nakamura and Tatsuya Nakamura (all JPN) and the Frontier team ( #96) with Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (MAS), Kevin Manfredi (ITA) and Chris Leesch (LUX). In the Superstock class, the BMW Motorrad colors are represented by Team Étoile ( #25) with Yudai Kamei (JPN), Hikari Okubo (JPN) and Roberto Rolfo (ITA) as well as TONE RT SYNCEDGE 4413 BMW ( #95) with Tomoya Hoshino (JPN), Ainosuke Yoshida (JPN) and BMW Motorrad rider Hannes Soomer (EST).

The qualifying sessions for the 45th edition of the Suzuka 8 Hours will take place on Friday, July 19. On Saturday, July 20, the top 10 trial will determine the first ten places on the starting grid. The eight-hour race will start on Sunday, July 21, at 11:30 a.m. local time (4:30 a.m. CEST), with the finish at 7:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. CEST).
