Mistral is a company born from extensive experience in the maritime industry, with the mission to help all players in this sector find the best solution for their needs. Established in the 1990s by Marco Zanelli and led since 2019 by Cinzia Borghi, today we are a consolidated and continuously expanding business reality. With a focus on technology and innovation, we monitor and study the evolving market and align our products and services accordingly. "We like the idea of continuing to grow and learn, but particularly of “navigating” continuously at your side. Our overriding mission is complete customer satisfaction, a goal we pursue with consistency, perseverance and professionalism." Our customers are all maritime industry operators across the board, from shipyards and shipowners to designers, planners, consultants and management companies. Mistral has two main sites today:
Mistral Suisse, which operates in Italy, Switzerland and Monaco as a representative for international companies, and Mistral Trading, which handles all aspects of spare parts trading for ship systems, from engine life to the anchor. We serve our customers 24/7 and have strategically located hubs in the shipping centers of Amsterdam, Houston, Milan, Shanghai and Singapore, creating a worldwide network that puts us where you need us.

Walking through a shipyard, talking to the people managing the work and seeing equipment up close helps us understand our customers’ needs and the conditions in which our products and services are used.

For the Mistral team, these visits are an opportunity to ask questions, learn from those working on site and recognise details that can make a difference when selecting a component or organising an intervention.

The better we understand the work, the better we can support it, anticipate potential issues and ask the right questions before they become urgent.

Over the years, we have expanded the range of services we offer because operating a vessel means dealing with very different needs: urgent spare parts, routine maintenance, technical issues requiring immediate action, and conditions that can lead to extended downtime or restrict access to certain ports, with consequences for both schedules and costs.

To respond to these needs, we have developed a network of partnerships that extends our support to hull cleaning, hull inspections and surveys.

Mistral is your first point of contact for arranging these services, even if you are unfamiliar with the local service providers at your port of call. We assess your requirements and involve the most suitable partners, checking availability and working together to coordinate the service around your vessel’s schedule.

Negli anni abbiamo ampliato la gamma dei nostri servizi, perché gestire una nave significa affrontare esigenze molto diverse: ricambi urgenti, manutenzione ordinaria, problemi tecnici che richiedono un intervento immediato e situazioni che possono causare fermi prolungati o limitare l’accesso ad alcuni porti, con conseguenze su tempi e costi.

Per rispondere a queste necessità, abbiamo sviluppato una rete di collaborazioni che ci permette di offrire supporto anche per pulizia dello scafo e altre attività di pulizia subacquea, survey e ispezioni subacquee.

Mistral è il primo contatto a cui rivolgersi per organizzare questi servizi, anche quando non si conoscono gli operatori disponibili nel porto di scalo. Partiamo dalle vostre esigenze e coinvolgiamo i partner più adatti, verificando la disponibilità e coordinando insieme l’intervento in base al programma della nave.

It was a pleasure to meet our long-standing partner LR Marine, bringing together engineering, technical support and specialized solutions to deliver complete systems for demanding marine and industrial applications.

With worldwide rights to LOGSTOR systems for maritime applications, LR Marine has developed strong expertise in pre-insulated piping solutions for open-deck steam and loading lines, emergency showers, as well as LNG applications for tankers and bunkering operations.

Its capabilities extend across the entire project: from complete system design and special engineering to cryogenic pipe stress analysis, production of pre-insulated LNG bunker pipes and double-wall gas pipes, installation and technical support.

A comprehensive approach that turns complex requirements into integrated, efficient and sustainable solutions, supported by a global network and expertise built specifically around the realities of the maritime industry.

è stato un piacere incontrare la nostra rappresentata di lunga data LR Marine che riunisce progettazione, supporto tecnico e soluzioni specialistiche per fornire sistemi completi destinati alle applicazioni navali e industriali più complesse.

Grazie ai diritti mondiali sui sistemi LOGSTOR per applicazioni marittime, LR Marine ha sviluppato una forte competenza nelle tubazioni pre-isolate per linee vapore e di carico su ponti aperti, docce di emergenza e applicazioni LNG per navi cisterna e operazioni di bunkering.

Le competenze coprono l’intero progetto: dalla progettazione completa del sistema e dalle soluzioni ingegneristiche speciali fino all’analisi delle sollecitazioni delle tubazioni criogeniche, alla produzione di tubazioni LNG pre-isolate e tubazioni gas a doppia parete, all’installazione e al supporto tecnico.

⚠️ ALERT: A successful yard period starts long before the vessel actually enters the yard.

Spare parts availability, lead times, technical checks and supplier coordination all need to be considered in advance, because waiting until the work has already started can quickly turn a simple requirement into a critical issue.
A component that is normally easy to source may suddenly become difficult to find within the required timeframe; an unexpected lead time can affect the schedule, delay other activities and add unnecessary costs to an already complex operation.

Planning ahead means having the time to evaluate alternatives, compare solutions and make decisions before urgency starts driving them.

⚠️ ALERT: la buona riuscita del cantiere inizia molto prima che la nave vi faccia effettivamente ingresso.

Disponibilità dei ricambi, lead time, verifiche tecniche e coordinamento con i fornitori sono aspetti che vanno considerati in anticipo, perché aspettare l’inizio dei lavori può trasformare rapidamente una richiesta semplice in una criticità.
Un componente normalmente facile da reperire può diventare difficile da trovare nei tempi necessari; un lead time imprevisto può incidere sul programma, rallentare altre attività e aggiungere costi evitabili a un’operazione già complessa.

Pianificare per tempo significa avere il margine per valutare alternative, confrontare soluzioni e prendere decisioni prima che sia l’urgenza a dettare i tempi.
