DAY 7: ALTERNATOR FAILURE.

As Small as it's it falls under top 3 important components of your car. An alternator is bolted to the engine and is driven by a serpentine belt (drive belt).
The list of its functions can't be ignore as it
(1) Charges you car battery.
(2) Power the vehicle's electrical system.

The failure of this Small mighty unit will result to the following symptoms.

(1) CHARGE icon on your dashboard. It's a battery-shaped warning light that pops up on your dashboard, normally it should pop on when you ignite and disappears immediately. If it then stays on,there's a problem with your charging system.

(2) LIGHTS. If your exteriors lights are overly bright this shows your alternator is over charging than usual.
If it's Dim less to normal, it means your alternator is working poorly.

(3) Since it powers your battery, if failure will automatically results to battery failure. Which means your car may not ignite.

(4) ELECTRICAL FAILURE. All your car electronics relies on charging system. If your alternator does not function perfectly expect an electrical issues.

If you want to know your Alternator is bad try to JumpStart you car if it ignite and stays running, it means your battery is bad but,if it JumpStart and goes off your alternator is bad. This is JumpStart tip isn't conclusive.

You have to see professionals like to cross check with digital charging system analyzer. You don't even have to remove your alternator. The professionals may also apply other expert methods.

DAY 6 : SMOKE FROM YOUR EXHAUST.

Smoke from exhaust can mean a lot of things. There are different types of smoke and each gives sign of a particular problem in your engine.

WHITE SMOKE : If the white smoke is thin it may not be a big deal as it maybe normal condensation build up in the exhaust system and it can quickly stop. But,if it's thick it can't be ignore as it's a bigger problem. CAUSES: blown head gasket,a cracked engine block etc.

BLACK SMOKE: Black smoke shows that your car is burning too much fuel. You won't want to spend extra cash of fuel,so it's not to be ignored. The first things to check are fuel injectors and fuel pressure regulator.

BLUE SMOKE: In this case your car is burning oil which means the valve guide seals or piston rings are worn out. Burning oil can cause rough start as the process can ruin car spark's plugs.
If you’re seeing this kind of smoke, check your oil regularly and watch for consumption issues. While an issue that normally should require immediate attention and expensive repairs, including some internal replacement parts, if your vehicle is old and the leak is minimal, it can be carefully managed by topping up the oil on a regular basis.

GRAY SMOKE: Gray smoke is hard to diagnose directly. Like blue smoke, it can mean that the car is burning oil or suffering from a bad turbocharger. Take the same precautions as with blue smoke, and check for excessive oil consumption.

Gray smoke can also be an issue with your automatic transmission fluid getting burned up in the engine. A faulty transmission vacuum modulator would be the culprit in this situation, leading to transmission fluid getting sucked into the engine and getting burned up.

Furthermore, gray smoke could mean a stuck PCV valve. The PCV system (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) cuts down on harmful emissions by recycling them back into the combustion chamber. However, when the PCV valve gets stuck, pressure can build and lead to oil leaks. Fortunately, PCV valves aren’t expensive, and can be a quick job for a mechanic.

DAY 5: SQUEAKY BRAKE.

To slow down or stop while on motion is the break system. Having break that functions properly means your car will be able to stop faster, safely, and confidently.
Brake is meant to function silently. Unarguably,nobody wants a car that makes noisy sound but at any point in time your brake can be guilty of making squeaky noise each time you've come to stop which definitely is irritating. Mostly, squeaky brakes are result of metal-to-metal contacts.
HERE ARE FEW CAUSES OF SQUEAKY BRAKES.

(1) EMPTY BRAKE OIL
(2) WORN OUT BRAKE PAD AND ROTOR
(3) LOOSED SHIMS.

SOLUTION:

(1) CHANGE YOUR BRAKE OIL TANK WITH HIGH QUALITY OIL.
(2) APPLY OIL OR GREASE TO ALL CONTACT POINTS ( BACKSIDE OF BRAKE PAD AND ANY CONTACT POINT OF CALLIPER CARRIER)
(3) TRY TO CHANGE YOUR BRAKE PADS.
(4) IN CASE OF LOOSED SHIM. REPLACEMENT.
