PART 2: The real reason the headliner came down… 👀🔥

In Part 1, we showed you the problem.
Now, here’s what was hiding underneath. 😳👇

The old adhesive between the headliner board and the material has completely broken down. After years of heat — especially in a black car absorbing all that extra heat ☀️🔥 — the glue simply stopped doing its job.

And this is how bad it gets… you can literally run your hand over it and it turns to dust. 🤯

❌ Not something you can just “glue back up.”
🛠️ The old material and failing adhesive need to be properly removed before the restoration can begin.

The problem has been found. 👀
Now the real work begins… 🔧✨

🎬 CHAPTER 1: THE PROBLEM 👀🚨

This beautiful Aston Martin came to us with a headliner that had completely come loose from the roof 😳🤯

And as you can see… it’s not just a small problem 😅
The entire material is literally hanging down and hitting Mark in the head while he’s sitting inside the car! 🤦‍♂️

☀️🔥 Because this is a black car, it absorbs a lot more heat. Over time, that heat can cause the original adhesive to break down… until eventually, the headliner starts falling down.

🚗💨 And honestly… driving like this? Almost impossible.

Unfortunately, once the material has completely come loose, we can’t simply glue the old one back up. ❌

The old material needs to come out, and we need to install brand-new material to bring this interior back to life. ✨🛠️

But this is only Chapter 1… 👀

The real transformation is still coming. 😮‍💨🔥

🚨 This is what happens when a windshield replacement is rushed.
👀 You might never notice it… until someone takes the windshield apart.

This Jaguar XK Convertible came to us after a previous windshield replacement — and what we found was NOT how this job should have been done. 😬

The cowl wasn’t even removed. Instead, the windshield had been installed with urethane applied toward the cowl area… a shortcut that may save time, but can create problems down the road.

🚨 TWO WINDSHIELDS. SAME CRACK. SAME SPOT. 😳

This 1965 Austin Healey Sprite gave us a little mystery… 👀

The windshield cracked twice, both times in the exact same lower corners. 🔍 So we decided to try a glass from a different manufacturer — but that created another problem…

The curvature was different. 😬

With classic cars, especially something as unique as this Austin Healey, the glass shape and curvature can be extremely complex. Sometimes, aftermarket options simply don’t match the original glass properly.

And in cases like this, there’s only one real solution: go with original glass. 🏁
