WE DID IT!! The Oak Bluff Playground Project received the most votes and is the WINNER of the $25,000 Sandbox Communities at Play grant! I would like to thank everyone who voted and spread the word! Your help made all the difference! We couldn’t have done it without you! I would like to extend a special thank you to the teachers and staff at Oak Bluff School, Roxy’s and Tim Hortons who went above and beyond to help us spread the word. Big thanks also to Enns Brothers, De Luca’s, Jensen’s Nursery, Boston Pizza Kenaston, Playgrounds R Us, and the many other businesses who promoted the grant! People always ask me...

"What's the best trailer to pull?"

That's like asking...

"What's the best way to get kicked in the teeth?"

Every trailer has its own special way of ruining your day.

Dry van guys think they've got it made.

Back up to the dock.

Open the doors.

Wait six hours.

Complain about detention pay.

Repeat.

Flatbedders?

Those boys wake up every morning and voluntarily do CrossFit.

Tarps.

Chains.

Straps.

Bungees.

By noon they've burned more calories than the average office worker does all week.

Then there's re**er drivers.

The load isn't the problem.

The little refrigeration unit is.

You'll wake up at 2:17 AM in a truck stop parking lot because your phone says:

"TEMPERATURE ALARM."

Congratulations.

You now have a heart attack scheduled before breakfast.

Tanker drivers?

Absolute lunatics.

One second everything feels fine.

Next second 8,000 gallons of liquid decides it wants to change lanes before you do.

Nothing teaches respect faster than freight that moves itself.

Car haulers are hauling six-figure vehicles while praying nobody sneezes near the trailer.

One mistake...

And you're explaining to dispatch why a luxury SUV is now a convertible.

Oversize drivers?

Different breed entirely.

They don't drive trucks.

They organize military operations.

Permits.

Es**rt cars.

Route planning.

Bridge heights.

Power lines.

State regulations.

And enough paperwork to kill a small forest.

Meanwhile dump trailer drivers are out there getting loaded by excavators that look like they're actively trying to destroy the equipment.

Every trailer has a price.

Dry van steals your patience.

Flatbed steals your back.

Re**er steals your sleep.

Tanker steals your confidence.

Car hauling steals your sanity.

Oversize steals your weekends.

And dump trailers steal whatever suspension parts are still hanging on.

Different trailers.

Different kinds of pain.

But somehow...

Every one of us still thinks the other guy has it easier.
