🏁⚡ From Handball to Horsepower! Please Help Me Welcome Alex to the Birchwood Family! ⚡🏁

Somewhere between handball, old friendships, and a little bit of car shopping, this one came together!

Back in mid-August, my boy Stephen, who I used to coach in handball, reached out. Stephen is quite the character and was a pretty decent handball player back in the day! 😄 He told me his girlfriend’s son, Alex, was looking for a new car and was considering a Honda Civic Sport, either gas or hybrid.

So we did what any good car shopper should do… we drove both!

Alex quickly discovered that the hybrid was his jam. Luckily, we had a black one arriving in a few weeks, which gave him some time to sell his 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0L Turbo, with 146,000 km on it.

Fast forward to today…

🎉 Alex picked up his brand-new Black 2026 Honda Civic Sport Hybrid! 🎉

There’s something pretty cool about watching a nice guy like Alex move from a fun little Genesis Coupe into a brand-new hybrid Civic, almost a right of passage! Different vehicles, completely different experience, but an exciting new chapter nonetheless.

A huge thank you to the incredible team at Birchwood Honda West for helping us make everything come together.

Alex, congratulations on the new ride! I hope you absolutely love it and enjoy every kilometre.

And Stephen… thanks for sending another great person my way. Maybe we should get the handball team back together sometime! 😂

💙🚙 Please Help Me Welcome Dustin to the Birchwood Ford Family! 🚙💙

Every once in a while, a new client comes along and you just click. Dusty was definitely one of those guys. Great sense of humour, easy to talk to, and we had a lot of fun throughout the process.

Dustin reached out online about a freshly traded-in 2017 Ford Edge SEL in Blue Jean Metallic with less than 85,000 km. It was in fantastic shape for its age, but because it had just arrived, we didn’t even have pictures online yet!

The next day, I sent Dusty some photos, and the day after that he came in to see it for himself. He took it for a drive and liked it so much that he decided pretty quickly that this was the one.

There was just one little challenge… timing.

Dustin was incredibly patient while our team completed the reconditioning, but he had a firm deadline. He and his family were heading to Orlando, Florida, for a family vacation and wouldn’t be back until September, so he needed to have his Edge before they left.

Thankfully, our team stepped up and worked hard to get everything completed in time. A huge thank you to everyone involved in expediting the reconditioning, and especially Dave Peterson, our Finance Manager, who got Dusty through the paperwork the day before he headed south.

And there’s one more fun connection… Dusty happens to be related to our own R.J. from Parts & Accessories!

Dustin, thank you for your patience, your trust, and all the laughs along the way. Congratulations on your beautiful Edge, and most importantly, have an amazing family vacation in Florida! ☀️🌴

🚗✨ WELCOME TO THE BIRCHWOOD FAMILY, FRESHTA! ✨🚗

It was a pleasure welcoming my newest client, Freshta, to the Birchwood Automotive Group family this past Saturday!

Freshta came to me through a referral from a friend — always one of the greatest compliments I can receive as her lease on her 2021 Nissan Murano was coming due and she needed to find the right vehicle to move into.
We took a look at a few different options and models, but after exploring her choices, we ultimately found the perfect fit: a 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan Highline in Black. 🖤🔥

⚡🤍 Please Help Me Welcome Ryan & Stephanie Back to the Birchwood Ford Family! 🤍⚡

It’s always a great feeling when clients come back, and this one was especially fun!

Ryan, who works with the RCMP, recently purchased a 2025 F-150 Tremor from me, and thankfully, he absolutely loves it! So when his wife Stephanie’s vehicle was recently written off, he knew exactly who to call.

Stephanie, an early childhood teacher, was looking for something completely different this time around, an electric vehicle. The Ford Mustang Mach-E quickly caught her attention, but there was one problem… we didn’t actually have one available! The ones showing on our website had already sold, so we had to go hunting.

Stephanie liked either white or black, and after some negotiating, my team was able to locate an Oxford White Mach-E Premium at another dealership just outside the city, and coincidentally, not far from their home!

Ryan and Stephanie were incredibly patient while we tracked it down, and on Thursday we finally brought it home.

Today, they came in for a quick drive and were amazed about the Fit and Finish initially, then the Technology but then the amazing performance of the Mach-E really surprised them, and I think it was at that moment that they really realized what they had bought. 😍 After the test drive, they were even more excited about their new Mach-E!

A huge thank you to Dave in Finance for looking after the paperwork and to Noah, our Delivery Coordinator, for making sure Stephanie was comfortable with all the new technology.

With Stephanie driving approximately 40-50 km a day, the combination of going electric and the $9,000 in available rebates makes this a fantastic fit for their lifestyle. They’re looking forward to watching those fuel bills come way down!

⚾🚙 Welcome Back to the Birchwood Ford Family, Andy! 🚙⚾

Some vehicles become part of the family, and Andy’s 2009 F-150 certainly did! He originally purchased it from us back in 2012, and after 195,000 kms, that truck definitely doesn’t owe him anything! 👏

Late Friday night, Andy spotted our beautiful 2021 Ford F-150 XTR in Carbonized Gray Metallic, with less than 90,000 kms, online. We connected that evening, and by 9:00 Saturday morning, Andy was here ready to take it for a drive! 😎

He loved the truck and decided to keep his trusty 2009 F-150 rather than trade it in. Yesterday, he came back to pick up his new-to-him F-150, and we made one more important upgrade: switching over his custom Winnipeg Goldeyes licence plates! ⚾💙

Andy is a fantastic guy, a big baseball fan, and an especially big Winnipeg Goldeyes fan, so seeing those plates on his new F-150 was the perfect finishing touch!

Andy, thank you for trusting us again after all these years and for giving us the opportunity to help you find your next truck. Welcome back to the Birchwood Ford Family! We hope you absolutely love the new F-150! 🍻

🛻🎉 Please Help Me Welcome John to the Birchwood Ford Family! 🎉🛻

Sometimes the best vehicles are the ones worth waiting for.

John is a local roofer who is growing his business and needed a truck with a little more muscle to keep up with the demands of his work.

At the end of last month, John found our 2015 F-250 XLT with only 69,000 km on AutoTrader. The truck had previously belonged to a longtime Birchwood client who had serviced it with us religiously, so we knew it had been well cared for.

Mechanically, the truck was in great shape, but it needed some bodywork to pass its Manitoba Safety. Because the truck was so mechanically sound and had such low kilometres, we decided to put the money we would have spent on mechanical work toward making the body look as good as the rest of the truck.

There was just one catch…

The bodywork was going to take more than three weeks.

John saw the potential in the truck, trusted us to make it right, and patiently waited.

On Friday, the wait was finally over!

John picked up his F-250 just in time for a big roofing job starting the very next day. And when the truck was finished, even the people walking through our showroom could hardly believe it was the same 2015 F-250 they had seen a month earlier. With the rust repaired and the body looking incredible, it honestly looked years newer.

John, you were one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Thank you for your patience, your trust, and for giving us the opportunity to bring this truck back to life for you.

Congratulations on your new-to-you F-250! I hope it serves you and your growing business for many years and many kilometres to come. 💪
