Today we’re recognizing Darryl for 40 years of service. Four decades of showing up, solving problems, helping customers, supporting coworkers, and contributing to Gateway’s success.
Many businesses never see an employee stay for 40 years. Darryl has worked through changes in vehicles, technology, processes, and the industry itself, while continuing to be someone we can count on.
On behalf of the ownership, management team, and everyone at Gateway, thank you for your loyalty, dedication, experience, and commitment. We are grateful for everything you’ve contributed over the last 40 years. 👏🍺

Thank you to all our valued customers for trusting us with your hail‑damage claims. We experienced a high volume of calls and walk‑ins yesterday, and we appreciate your patience. Our team can assist immediately with temporary glass repairs and will guide you through the next steps in your claim process.

Over 8,000 claims and counting. Yesterday's storms were intense, and our hearts are with our customers whose property has been damaged and lives have been disrupted by these events.

If your vehicle was damaged, please reach out to us to get your claim started:

Glass Repairs: contact an accredited autobody or glass repair shop (find an accredited shop at https://www.mpi.mb.ca/find-a-service/) to open a claim and arrange for a temporary repair. You can do this whether or not you have already begun the claims process with MPI over the phone or online. You'll be required to pay your deductible at the time the temporary repair is done. After the temporary repair is complete, we'll reach out to book an estimating appointment at an MPI location to determine if your vehicle can be permanently repaired.

Damaged, and not Drivable: if your vehicle can't be driven due to storm damage, please call MPI’s Contact Centre directly at 204-985-7000 or toll-free at 1-800-665-2410. We are prioritizing the most severe claims through our Contact Centre.

Damaged, but Drivable: if your vehicle is damaged but can still be safely driven, please open a claim with us online at openclaim.mpi.mb.ca.

The volume of claims we're receiving remains high and we're watching our systems closely to ensure we minimize disruptions. That said, we appreciate your patience as we work to serve everyone who's been impacted by recent events.

Be honest—do YOU read a company’s replies to reviews before choosing them?

As business owners, we’re often told:
Respond to every review—good, bad, even the ones from years ago.

And honestly…
You wonder.
Does it actually make a difference?
Is anyone really reading the owner’s reply?

Most days… it’s hard to tell. But every once in a while…
💥 You hit the jackpot.

A customer doesn’t just leave a great review—
they reflect back exactly what you’ve been trying to build. And you realize:
People ARE paying attention.

One recent review from Shelley Jamieson stopped me in my tracks:

“I visited/contacted multiple shops/websites and read countless reviews.

When the review was negative, they acknowledged the experience, investigated, apologized, and took corrective action.
