They say the Chevelle was the ultimate "all-American" muscle car, but those of us who know the history know the women of GM Design gave it a heart.

Creative pioneers like Suzanne Vanderbilt lived for the challenge of making a high-performance machine feel like home. After starting as one of the original "Damsels of Design," Suzanne spent over 20 years at Chevrolet, eventually leading the interior studio. She was the force that turned a rugged A-body into a masterpiece of comfort and chrome, making sure a Chevelle looked just as sharp at the drive-in as it did at the stoplight.

This Women's History Month, we’re looking back at the pioneers like Suzanne who saw the potential in the "Super Sport" spirit before the rest of the world did.

We thank the women who’ve been steering our Chevelle dreams for generations. Our community is built on the strength and passion they bring to the hobby every day. We are incredibly appreciative of the ladies who keep this legacy moving forward!
