NOW HIRING: SERVICE WRITER
Automotive & Heavy Truck Repair Shop
Wage: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
We are currently seeking a reliable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has an interest in the automotive or heavy truck industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Greet customers and visitors in a timely, professional, and friendly manner—both in person and over the phone
• Gather detailed customer and vehicle information prior to arrival
• Accurately listen to and communicate customer concerns regarding their vehicle or ongoing work
• Clearly explain recommended services, repairs, and associated costs before work begins
• Verify and document accurate vehicle details, including VIN/serial number, mileage, company info, and contact details
• Perform basic vehicle inspections when obtaining VINs and advise customers of any additional required work (lights, wipers, etc.)
• Prepare and provide accurate cost estimates
• Communicate incoming work with the Service Manager or Senior Lead Hand
• Participate in quality control processes to minimize rework and ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Automotive or heavy-duty truck experience is an asset, but not required
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and internal systems
• Professional attitude and positive presentation with customers and team members
• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, management, and the public
