More than $300,000 raised for children and families!
The Muskoka Shrine Club went all out to show support for the Illustrious Sir John A Slessor, Potentate for 2026 while raising funds in support of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada.
The Shriners Hospitals provide life changing care to children regardless of family’s ability to pay, giving hope where it is needed the most.
We heard from a previous patient guest speaker Ms. Carlota Santoyo Catalan and her Mother and how the Shriners changed their whole world.
Carlota was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a very young age and Drs in Mexico essentially told Ms. Catalan to give up, nothing can be done.
Distraught with no hope in sight she drove away making a stop at a gas station while filling up a gentleman noticed her crying and ask if he could help. She broke down and told him her story and his reply was call the Shriners they can help!!
Ms. Catalan was unaware of who the Shriners were and just at the brink of giving up her prayers were answered.
As she said her whole world changed in that moment, the Shriners saved her little girl from a life of despair and pain to a life filled with joy, love and gratitude!!
The Shriners Hospital is a bilingual short term facility specializing in complex rare bone diseases such as osteogenesis imperfects, arthrogryposis, bone malformations, scoliosis and cerebral palsy.
They provide care regardless of a family’s ability to pay, giving hope where it is needed most.
