On October 17, Victoria International Marina is welcoming the Fly Fishing Film Tour for an afternoon of incredible films, wild places and stories from the water.

Presented by Custom Rodbuilders Inc. in support of Peninsula Streams Society, the event brings together people who care about fishing, the coast and protecting the waterways that make this part of the world so special.

Expect beautifully shot films, plenty of inspiration and a great reason to spend the afternoon at the marina.

Today, we pause to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

We are grateful to live, work and welcome guests on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, and to continue learning from the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations whose connection to these lands and waters reaches back generations.

Today is a time to honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and take the time to listen and learn.

For those in Victoria, the South Island Powwow, hosted by Songhees Nation at Royal Athletic Park, offers an opportunity to gather and experience Indigenous culture through song and dance.
