How much does it actually cost to drive a Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e for 100 kilometres on battery power?

In Part 2 of our 100 KM series, we take the plug-in hybrid GLC 350e from Victoria, over the Malahat and around Shawnigan Lake, before heading back toward the city.

Along the way, we look at how the GLC 350e manages electric range, regenerative braking, Intelligent Recuperation and ECO Assist, including how the vehicle can automatically adjust regeneration based on the road and traffic ahead.

After 100 kilometres, we break down how much electricity we actually used and compare the cost of recharging at home versus public Level 2 and DC fast charging.

Sometimes it’s the features you rarely think about that make you appreciate your Mercedes-Benz the most.

Yesterday, wildfire smoke filled the air around Victoria. You could see it, and you could certainly smell it.

But inside a Mercedes-Benz equipped with ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL and HEPA filtration, it was an entirely different environment.

Outside: approximately 53 µg/m³ PM2.5
Inside: approximately 1 µg/m³ PM2.5

That’s roughly 98% less PM2.5 inside the cabin at that moment.

PM2.5 refers to extremely fine airborne particles found in wildfire smoke, traffic pollution, and other contaminants. With the system working, the difference inside the vehicle was immediately noticeable. No smell of smoke, just remarkably clean cabin air.

For those sensitive to smoke, pollen, or air pollution, or anyone who simply appreciates a cleaner cabin environment, it’s one of those Mercedes-Benz technologies that can make a meaningful difference.

Some career paths are anything but conventional.

Meet Renato Spartani, Parts Manager at Three Point Motors.

Renato’s career began far from the automotive industry, working as a high school teacher in Brazil. It was there that he developed many of the skills that still shape his leadership today: communication, mentorship, and a passion for helping people grow.

Eventually, Renato decided to follow another lifelong passion and make the move into the automotive world.
His journey began with Lamborghini, where he developed an appreciation for performance, precision, and the passion that surrounds the industry. From there came BMW, and today, Mercedes-Benz and Three Point Motors.

More than 13 years into his automotive career, that passion hasn’t slowed down. Renato continues to bring the same energy and focus on developing people to his role as Parts Manager today.

We’re proud to have Renato as part of the Three Point Motors team and look forward to the next chapter of his journey with Mercedes-Benz.

A final chapter for one of Mercedes-Benz’s most iconic roadsters.

The 2002 SL 500 Silver Arrow Edition celebrated the end of the R129 generation, a Mercedes-Benz roadster produced for more than a decade and shaped during the legendary Bruno Sacco era.

Its exclusive Silver Arrow Metallic paint, code 777, was more than a special colour. It paid tribute to the silver Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix racing cars that became known as the “Silver Arrows” beginning in the 1930s, a name that remains part of Mercedes-Benz motorsport history today.

The Silver Arrow carried that theme throughout, with a distinctive silver and black interior, special trim, polished two-piece wheels, Silver Arrow badging, and a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre M113 V8.

Production was limited, with just 1,450 SL 500 Silver Arrow Editions produced for the U.S. market, alongside 100 SL 600 examples. Additional Silver Arrows were produced for select markets around the world.
