Time to get back to some more positive posts , and something that I’m super super proud of .

Recently I began the process of rebuilding an air cooled 1600cc engine from a 1971 vw bus . What started out as a simple top end , pistons and cylinder replacement unfortunately turned into an entire motor rebuild as cylinder 3 had a hole in the piston . Here’s where we started and here’s where we’re currently at!

Generally I work solo but on this project I had my 2 best friends help me out , my friend Kyle has a sweet baja bug of his own and his knowledge of some items has been invaluable , and my friend Riley was nice enough to let us use his families wood shop so we had an indoor space to do all this work . So so thankful for that 😌

Also huge shoutout to Avr Import Specialties for building a fantastic shortblock for us !

Hey everyone
I can’t believe I’m making another post like this , but I wanted to shed some light as to why response time may be a little slow , or I may be taking a bit longer to complete things these past few weeks

A little over a week ago I very suddenly lost someone who has been an inspiration , teacher, mentor, and to be honest, a best friend to me for the entire time I have been so blessed to know him. A lot of you got to meet my father in law Ted , and I am so incredibly sad to let you all know that he has passed after a very brave and valiant , but brief battle with cancer .

I owe the success of this entire operation to him , and he was very much an integral part of all of it . I can’t quite articulate into words just how thankful I am for him, everything he did for and made possible for me , everything he taught me , and the immense amount of guidance he gave me as I got all of this off the ground .

Things will get back to normal soon, and nothing will change about MoonTan or the way that I operate it , I just need a little bit of time to ease off the gas a little bit and spend some time with family , meaning I can still take care of anything you lovely people need , there just may be a day or two more of waiting because I just do not have it in me to work till 3am like I normally do

Hey everyone !
The past few weeks have been 90+ hours each! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you guys really are the best, and I’m so thankful for each and every one of you 🙏

The week of June 28th to July 3rd I’m going to attempt to take the week off for my birthday, but also to catch up on some sleep and go to the chiropractor 🤕🤣 but if any emergencies should arise , I’ll be here !

If ever I haven’t followed up on something and it’s been a few days , PLEASE!! double , triple or quadruple text me ! It’s never a bother and it’s actually super appreciated !

From scheduling , diagnostics , ordering , answering calls and texts , sourcing parts , installing parts , doing tires ect .. it’s all just me running the whole show , so sometimes things may get missed ; but I promise to always do my very best to stay on top of everything 😌

I am so humbled by it all, and so thankful for all of you for the countless opportunities and support, and all the customers that have turned to friends along the way, and all the fabulous people I have got to meet, cool cars and trucks I have got to work on , and things I have been able to learn and accomplish

3 years, hundreds of cars , and even more fantastic people I’ve been lucky enough to have met along the way
