EP 34 | Rivet Bonding Hands-On Skills Development

Our latest hands-on training session at Area22 Training Centre focused on rivet bonding techniques for collision repair.

Participants learned and practised the preparation, installation, and removal of solid, blind, and self-piercing rivets (SPR). The class also covered proper rivet inspection, adjusting installation techniques, and understanding adhesive work time.

The *Area22 Quarter Panel Replacement Course* is a 2-day, hands-on training program focused on OEM-aligned structural repair procedures.

Technicians will work through quarter panel removal, sectioning, fitment, joining methods, MIG/MAG welding, MIG brazing, riveting, adhesive bonding, corrosion protection, and final finishing.

Hands-on MIG brazing training at AREA22 Training Centre.

Technicians worked through the complete MIG brazing process, from preparing props and setting up and tuning the welder to brazing coupons in common joint configurations used by vehicle manufacturers.

The class finished with students dressing one of their MIG brazed samples, putting their skills into practice from start to finish.

From Auto Glass Repair and Steel GMA Welding to Steel Sectioning, Aluminum GMA Welding, Spot Welding, MIG Brazing and an on-site Express 1000 session, technicians had plenty of opportunities to build practical skills and put training into action.
