Following last year's SEMA Show, I began discussions with this manufacturer to create a more cost-effective solution for Canadian customers interested in purchasing complete vehicle bodies.
While this manufacturer ships directly to the United States, I have negotiated a program that allows bodies to be shipped directly to Vancouver, BC in a 40-foot container.
To make pricing work, each container must include three bodies (any combination of models, painted or bare metal). Landed pricing is calculated based on the current USD exchange rate and the shipping costs associated with that specific container.
At the moment, I have one customer preparing to order a Bronco body and another considering a 240Z body, leaving room for a third project.
Why ship through Canada? By importing directly into Canada, customers can often benefit from lower tariffs and duties compared to having the body shipped to the manufacturer's U.S. distributor in California and then re-exported to Canada.
