Clarification from Peoples Choice Warranty (PCW)
At Peoples Choice Warranty (PCW), transparency and trust with our customers, dealers, and partners are our highest priorities.
Yesterday, the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) released a bulletin that has caused unnecessary concern regarding the compliance of PCW’s extended warranty programs. We want to be absolutely clear:
-Our extended warranty programs remain compliant and secure:
Our warranty coverage is backed by a Contractual Liability Insurance Policy (CLIP) issued by Arch Insurance Canada Ltd., a licensed insurer. This protection remains in full effect for our products.
-Proactive steps have been taken:
In addition to maintaining this insurance coverage, PCW has been working with OMVIC since December 2024 to secure a Letter of Credit for certain new offerings. OMVIC had previously confirmed that extended warranties could be offered if backed by either insurance or a Letter of Credit. Despite our efforts and good faith engagement, OMVIC recently declined to accept our
Letter of Credit without clear explanation.
-What this means for you:
Customers remain fully protected under our existing insured warranty programs. Dealers can continue to confidently offer PCW warranties knowing they are backed by licensed insurance coverage.
Our commitment to compliance, transparency, and service to our partners is unwavering.
We are addressing this matter directly with OMVIC and have requested that the misleading bulletin be corrected.
Peoples Choice Warranty has proudly served Canadians with reliable, insured extended warranty products, and we remain fully committed to protecting our customers and supporting our dealer network.
Your trust is, and will always remain, our priority.
