Yesterday was a frightening reminder that accidents can happen when you least expect them.
Our tow truck was parked at the post office while my dad went inside to check the mail. My mom and niece were sitting safely inside the truck when a car, whose driver wasn't paying attention, struck our tow truck from behind.
Thankfully, my mom and niece only suffered minor injuries, but things could have been so much worse. We are incredibly grateful that they were wearing their seatbelts — even though the truck was parked.
Please let this be a reminder to everyone: wear your seatbelt every single time you are in a vehicle, even if you're parked or think you're only sitting for a minute. You never know when another vehicle may strike you, and those few seconds it takes to buckle up could make all the difference.
Our tow truck wasn't as lucky smahed our wheel lift up into the top and was so far under the back wheels left the ground, the car that hit us had heavy front end damage.
Most importantly, we are thankful that our family is okay. Yesterday could have ended very differently, and we are beyond grateful that everyone is still here with us.
