🚨 Here’s a scary thought… how many vehicles are driving around with brakes that look like this? 😳

This truck came in with a right front brake caliper seized solid. The brake pad had worn completely past the friction material, through the metal backing plate, and kept grinding until there was virtually nothing left. At that point, the outer fingers of the caliper were actually making contact with the rotor to stop the vehicle. 😬

Unfortunately, this caliper was far beyond saving. To get this truck safely back on the road, we replaced the front caliper, rotors, and brake pads. 🛠️

This is a great reminder not to ignore brake noise or warning signs, because catching an issue early can save you money and, more importantly, keep you safe. ✅

Here we’ve got an EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) that failed electronically, throwing the stability track and ABS systems into chaos all at once ⚠️. When the customer hit the brake pedal, the pump would kick in unexpectedly, causing a noticeable vibration and a pull to the driver’s side.

We replaced it with a brand new OEM unit, complete and ready to go 🔧. Keep in mind, these modules aren’t just plug-and-play, they require proper programming to sync with the vehicle.

Here we’ve got our apprentice Rylan taking a closer look at this F-550 🤣 and it didn’t take long before he found the issue. The water pump bearings have completely failed, creating excessive play and noise. This caused the pulley to run out of round, eventually forcing the serpentine belt to walk off 😬

Luckily, it was caught when it was because a full bearing failure could’ve thrown the belt entirely or even caused the pulley to separate and snap the belt off 💥

Great catch and another solid learning moment in the shop 👨‍🔧

Here’s the findings on that noisy Dodge from the other day!! 🔧😬

The torque converter bolts backed out, causing the converter to rattle against the flex plate and oval out the holes. The bolts then started digging into the rear engine cover, but luckily the damage there was minimal 🙏

Unfortunately, with the wear on the converter, damaged threads, and oblong flex plate holes, this one’s turning into a pretty costly repair 💸

Looks like someone missed our friendly reminder! 😬 This air filter went way too long without being changed and unfortunately ended up getting pulled halfway down the intake. The result? It wiped out the leading edges on the compressor wheel of the turbo. 💨

Unfortunately this one is going to turn into a pretty costly turbo repair. Regular maintenance like air filter changes might seem small, but they can save you thousands in the long run. Keep your truck breathing clean! 💵

This week we had a 2023 L5P Duramax in the shop for a few weight reduction upgrades 😁🔥

Some of the highlights included an MBRP downpipe, tied into a 4” Flow Pro exhaust system, along with a full EGR cooler removal and a beautiful set of WC Fab intercooler pipes. These upgrades really cleaned up the engine bay and made everything look the way it should — like a proper engine again 💪
