Behind The Wheel (BTW) Driving School is a government-accredited driving school that offers the Graduated Licensing Program. BTW is owned & operated by Philip (Bud) Thorne, a respected retired high school educator whose teaching career spanned 30 years in St. Since opening BTW in 2006, Bud has successfully coached over 2000 driving students from all over the Avalon Peninsula how to drive safely, d

efensively and CORRECTLY! Students of Behind The Wheel receive 25 hours of patient & highly knowledgeable in-class instruction and 10.5 hours of intensive, one-on-one in-car instruction with Bud, with great emphasis on defensive driving & accident avoidance. Students are issued an insurance discount certificate upon successful completion of their Road Test. Behind The Wheel's motto is "Once in a lifetime you learn to drive...learn correctly!"
