2026 ➡️2019

It’s wild to look back at how far our lawn mower races have come since we first kicked things off in 2019. Back then, we showed up with half a load of tires, a tiny corner of the soccer field, and just 5 racers who were crazy enough to give it a go.

Today… we’re building a full track with 8 transport loads of tires, filling the entire soccer field, and welcoming 34 racers to the lineup. Every year, Summer Fest pushes us to our limits — it’s busy, it’s stressful, and we’re running from sunrise to sunset — but when we stop for a second and look at where we started, it hits us just how proud we are of what we’ve built.

We haven’t perfected it yet, but the growth, the support, and the memories make every long day worth it. Here’s to the racers, the volunteers, and everyone who shows up to cheer. You’ve helped turn a small idea into something our whole community looks forward to.

What an absolutely incredible day for our Lawn Mower Races! This year we handed out $1,380 in prize money and close to $1,500 worth of prizes, and thanks to all of you, we celebrated our highest participation ever with 34 racers. The spirit, sportsmanship, and laughter made it a day to remember.

🏆 Award Highlights

• Best Dressed – Chip and Dale
Lisa Chartrand & Tina Scott Burns brought the fun and creativity to the track!

• Best Tractor – Armstrong Auto Refinish Family
Everett & Cooper Armstrong, Garrett Vibert, & Wyatt Hill showed up with a beauty of a machine.

• Rookie of the Year – Nicholas Rabbito
An impressive first season and a name we’ll be seeing again!

• Most Dedicated – Gabby Williams
Our only female Open racer this year—she took some tough hits but still powered through to finish 3rd in the Open Final! Absolute grit.

• Wicked Wreck – Alder Ditchburn
His first run of the day ended upside down in the tires… and he still kept going. A true racer’s spirit.

• Fastest Lap (Mower) – Jack Delaney
• Fastest Lap (Dirt Bug) – Brian Jackson

• Jack Delaney, took home the Station Cup after placing in heats across Mod, Open, and Dirt Bug—earning an incredible 78 points. A phenomenal performance.

Events like this don’t happen without the support of our racers, families, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators. Whether you were behind the wheel, behind the scenes, or cheering from the sidelines, you helped make this our biggest and best year yet.

One of our racers had to pull out of tomorrow’s lawn mower races due to issues with his machines — but instead of sitting the day out, Nick Clarke stepped up in a huge way. Nick runs Clarke’s Small Engine Repair in the Emsdale area, and we’re incredibly lucky to have him jump in to fill the role of our Safety Tech for the day.

Nick didn’t just show up — he showed what real community spirit looks like. He’s still giving his time, his skill, and his energy to help keep the event running smoothly and safely for everyone.

If you’re racing tomorrow, make sure you thank Nick for being a true team player.
If you’re coming to watch, give him a shout for helping get the event off the ground.
