Small business is not small work.
It’s late-night parts hunts for motorcycles no longer found in catalogues. It’s taking a chance on an impossible repair, teaching someone how their machine works, and finding a way forward when the obvious answer is “replace it.”
The Dog’s Hogs Motorcycle Repair Ltd. has been nominated for Canada’s Small Business 100—and we’re pretty damn proud. 🐾🏍️
We’re a woman-owned independent motorcycle shop in Victoria, BC, built for riders and machines that don’t always fit neatly into the usual boxes. We specialize in vintage motorcycles, complicated diagnostics, resurrection projects, and the weird, old and stubborn bikes that other shops may not have the time—or appetite—to tackle.
But the real story of The Dog’s Hogs is bigger than motorcycles.
It’s about taking people seriously when they’ve been underestimated. It’s about building confidence, sharing knowledge and creating room for newcomers to get their hands dirty. It’s our small, fiercely committed crew. It’s our customers trusting us with machines carrying decades of memories. And it’s the community that has helped turn one stubborn little shop into something real.
Behind every motorcycle is someone hoping for one more season, one more adventure or one more chance to bring an old machine back to life.
We understand the feeling. We built a business out of it.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted us, encouraged us, recommended us, challenged us and helped keep this strange and wonderful dream moving forward. This nomination belongs to our whole unruly pack. 🖤
