We would like to take this opportunity to thank all volunteers and all of the floats in this year’s 16th annual Santa Parade Of Lights we would also like to thank Selkirk Biz, Jim Pelletier and everyone else involved to make this parade happen. We were very happy to have been apart again this year and look forward to many more years to come. We were very happy to have steamed the parade and plan to make this a yearly thing. We would also like to thank you the public for coming out and showing your support not only for the parade to which wouldn’t be possible without you, but also for those who donated along the way. You help keep the holiday spirit alive within our community.

Came across this BMW tonight parked along hwy 8 near Miller rd. No body was around and it seemed to be smoking, we contacted Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba once officers arrived it was confirmed there were no occupants and it was indeed in the early stages of catching fire. St. Andrew’s FD was also asked to attend.
Friendly reminder if you breakdown and plan to leave your vehicle unattended please let RCMP Non emergency know. This could have been very bad very fast had it fully ignited.

Assisted Champion Towing Ltd. March 14,2023. Just one of the services we provide helping make sure everyone is safe while they work. Please remember folks when  approaching flashing amber,Amber/red lights it’s the law to , with road conditions as they were and low visibility take your time you never know what could be hiding in the blowing snow.

If you’re going to walk at night please for your safety wear something other than all black, the best thing to do is wear something reflective, and most importantly don’t walk into traffic

Please remember in bad weather find a SAFE place to park, this driver though his intentions were good and we applaud him for stopping when conditions were too bad to carry on, the issue here was after sleeping on the shoulder for awhile it created a large snow drift beside him that cars would not be able to see until it was to late. No tickets were issued here (RCMP attended as well behind me) but the driver was told to move down the road to a safer location where truck parking is allowed. (Hwy 8&27)

On January 30th at 830pm we came across this vehicle stuck in the ditch on Spring Hill Drive, We assisted with pulling them out. They were very greatful for the assist as we were very glad to have helped. Stay safe everyone and stay warm.

It was our pleasure to assist in the closing of Eveline street this evening for the Santa Parade of lights, even though tonight was a cold one the turn out was amazing! Thank you everyone for coming out and respecting the volunteers and their barricades. We hope to see you all at the next event till then, remember to stay warm! And don’t forget when traveling even on short trips in the winter months to always bring warm clothing with you. You never know when or where you may get stuck.
