Earlier this month, Astro picked up a load in Biggar, Saskatchewan for our customer AGI Envirotank Ltd. and delivered it safely to Mayo, Yukon — travelling more than 3,000 miles along the way.

This trip also marks the furthest north we’ve ever travelled from home!

Astro Transport is looking for an experienced Senior Hauling Dispatcher to join our team.

We’re looking for someone who stays calm under pressure, enjoys problem-solving, and can coordinate multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment. You’ll help manage trucks, trailers, drivers, and customer requests to keep operations running smoothly.

Experience or familiarity with transporting construction equipment, agricultural equipment, sea containers, and heavy towing operations is considered a strong asset.

Heading into the long weekend… and the weather forecast is looking a little questionable. ☔️❄️

May Long is usually considered the unofficial start of summer (lol), which means more people hitting the road for the lake, camping, and weekend plans.

No matter where you’re headed, plan ahead, drive for the conditions, and make sure everyone has a safe ride home.

Looks like Mother Nature isn’t done with us yet.

A major spring storm is moving into southern and central Saskatchewan today, bringing very strong winds continuing into tomorrow and Friday.

Southerly winds will ramp up first, followed by widespread westerly gusts up to 110 km/h. The system is expected to produce significant impacts across the province, including difficult travel conditions, reduced visibility from blowing dust, and potential damage to roofs, fences, and trees. Rainfall is also expected, with the heaviest amounts in the southwest, adding to localized flooding concerns in some areas.

If you don’t need to be on the road, stay put. If you do travel, use extreme caution and secure loose items outdoors.
