Customer: When do I change over to my winter tires?

Me: When the AVERAGE temperature is 7 degrees or lower which falls in the month of November.

Customer: Why change at that temperature?

Me: Winter tires have a softer rubber compound to grip snow. The rubber is designed to get firmer and stay “elastic like”at that temperature and not wear out as quick.

People, people, people!!! Please listen. Almost every vehicle CAN ACCEPT DIFFERENT TIRE SIZES AND RIMS. Usually a newer SUV or car comes with factory 18”, 19” and 20” rim/tire packages with all season/summer tires. Winter tires are expensive for those sizes. In most cases it costs the same to buy a completely smaller winter tire/rim package with the same diameter tires.
A common suv size is 235/55/19 and common winter tire package is 235/65/17. Any questions, message me.
