The town of Riverview By Law enforcement has kindly asked us to inform our customers to avoid parking on the road.

As full as the parking lot may be, we ask for the benefit of all parties that you find a spot in the parking lot to park. Diagonally along the parking line by the sign is a good option, like the white Hyundai in this picture! As long as we have the car’s keys, feel free to park anywhere as it’s easily moveable.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Anyone who’s blown a brake hydraulic component such as a brake line, caliper or cylinder knows how scary that super low, soft brake pedal is!

This Honda Civic blew a rear wheel cylinder and leaked most of its brake fluid all over the shoes and drum. Brake fluid is highly corrosive and it is highly recommended that any contaminated components be replaced, as seen below!

This Mazda came in with the complaint of the fuel gauge always reading empty, even after filling up. The engine light was also on with a fuel level sensor circuit code. The fuel pump and two level sensors are located inside the fuel tank, each with an access port located underneath the rear seats. A visual inspection revealed both wires for one of the level sensors were not even attached and looked like they had possibly been chewed!

We repaired the two wires with the industry standard’s heat shrinkable crimps and covered it all with new protective loom - and vacuumed up all the yummy rodent snacks!

This vehicle came in with an engine surging concern.

Upon doing our initial checkover of the vehicle, we noticed the tire pressure, low washer fluid, and engine lights were all illuminated. A quick diagnosis revealed a faulty Air fuel ratio sensor (Toyota’s version of an Oxygen sensor) cycling and getting stuck rich and lean, which fixed the surging issue and engine light.

We pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our customers, so we also topped up some slightly low tire pressures which turned off the tire pressure light, and replaced a leaky washer fluid hose and topped up the reservoir, turning off the washer fluid light. All complimentary except for the jug of washer fluid.

This Matrix is driving away with no lights on the dash and running just as well as it did when it rolled off the showroom floor 336,000 kms ago!

New intake camshaft, rocker arms, lifters, oil filter housing on this 3.6 Dodge Caravan engine!

A common failure point on these engines is failed rocker arm bearings, which causes the camshaft lobes to wear into the rocker arm and grind them down to a jagged circle. This usually causes a loud ticking noise, and sometimes misfires and air/fuel ratio codes.
The problem can be remedied by replacing any affected camshafts, rocker arms and lifters, which luckily can all be replaced without removing the engine’s major timing components. This makes it a relatively sensible and cost effective repair - compared to many other engine designs!

With the mileage of the vehicle and the intake manifold already off for the cam job, it was also a good opportunity to update the spark plugs and address a leaking oil filter housing. This 3.6 is ready for its new lease on life!
