and Sterling Truck and Trailer Sales Ltd., hasn't always sat in the owner's chair. In fact, in the early days, his chair was behind the wheel of a semitrailer truck, which he drove from 1959-1965. He then dabbled in the used truck business until 1973, when he opened up his first business; Sterling Truck and Trailer Sales Ltd. "In the fall of 1973, I was down east and there was a rail strike in Can

ada at the time. I was coming back from Toronto and I noticed all the leased equipment, rental trailers on the highway and I thought it would be a good thing to get into Saskatchewan," said Sterling. As fate would have it, when Sterling got back to Regina, a Fruehauf trailer salesman was in town. They talked and Hornoi bought his first three rental units for $1,800.00 down. By October 1974, he had taken delivery of 20 highboys and 10 vans. Today, our lineup of equipment includes tandem axle tractors (day cabs or sleeper cabs), single or tandem axle straight trucks with van bodies, single axle re**er trucks, 1 ton cube vans, flat deck trucks, picker trucks, dry vans, refrigerated vans, storage vans, flat deck trailers, and low boy trailers. Through Hornoi Leasing Ltd., daily and long-term leases are offered to North American companies or private individuals. We have units across Canada and also make units available to customers who may have their truck tied up for a long period of time for repairs or servicing, or for those individuals who may not want to go to the expense of buying a unit. All equipment leased meets current safety standards and certification. For added convenience there are staff members available 24 hours a day, if a customer should need a rental for any emergency that may occur. To meet the demand in the northern Saskatchewan mining industry, Hornoi Leasing opened up a Saskatoon office in 1979. Today we’re super excited to congratulate our friend Brett Tollefson of Tollefson Farms on picking up their first Volvo from us, a beautiful 2021 Volvo VNR300 from our premium used inventory!

Tollefson Farms is a fourth-generation farm located just southwest of Moose Jaw, and lets just say they certainly know a thing or two about putting their trucks to work. With a small but growing fleet of heavy-duty trucks already on site, this isn’t their first truck but it is their first Volvo. And after getting behind the wheel and putting this VNR to work, Brett and the team have already told us they wish they’d made the switch to Volvo sooner!

We couldn’t be happier to get Tollefson Farms set up with their new Volvo, and we know this truck is going to put in plenty of great work for them as we know it can handle everything they can throw at it. So today, we want to congratulate our new friend Jagtar and his family on an incredibly special milestone, picking up his first truck! A beautiful 2020 Volvo VNL760.

What made this day even more special was having his whole family here with him to celebrate. Jagtar may be the first generation behind the wheel of this Volvo, but it looks like the second generation isn't too far behind and maybe one day that die-cast model Volvo will become the real deal!

What a great day out on the course! ⛳️ It truly was a great day spending time with our customers along with our Volvo Corporate partners!

We want to give a huge thank you to the Saskatchewan Trucking Association for having us out for their Annual Golf Tournament earlier this week. This is an event we look forward to every year as it's more than just a great day in the sun, it's a chance to connect with the trucking community as a whole!

While we still had our crew out on the links, we were also proud to sponsor a hole this year and bring a little extra fun to the day. We were set up at Hole #1 with our Chip N’ Win game handing out Sterling Truck and Trailer and Hornoi Leasing gear, cold water, and sharing lots of laughs with golfers and friends throughout the day.

Events like these are a great reminder of how strong the trucking community within Saskatchewan truly is. It’s always a pleasure to catch up with industry partners, customers, and reps to hear about how things are going and how we can help each other succeed. Thank you again to the entire STA team for putting together another amazing tournament and for having us be a part once again. We can’t wait till next year already!

Today we’re excited to congratulate our friend Geoff Bell on picking up his newly owned Volvo VNR640!

This truck marks Geoff’s second ex-lease unit he has purchased off our fleet. Geoff knows these units have been exceptionally maintained, serviced, and cared for. He can hop into his new truck for the first time and know it's ready to get to work. This beautiful truck will be hauling Super Bs in style, so keep an eye out for it on the road!

We have had the pleasure of working with Geoff for many years, and it's always a pleasure when he stops by the shop! Building long-term relationships with people like Geoff is one of the best parts of what we do.

Today we want to give a big congratulations to our friends at Western Logistics on the addition of their new Hino L7 on a Full-Service Lease.

For over 20 years, we have had the pleasure of getting to know and work with Ray and the team at Western Logistics. Long before they purchased a truck from us, they came to our service department to keep their International Trucks repaired and on the road. Then in 2019 they decided to make their first purchase with us and added a new Hino and Volvo truck to their fleet.

Since then our partnership has continued to grow and grow, and as their business evolved; so did their needs! After seeing the value of our equipment and support, Western Logistics decided they would rather focus on what they do best while leaving the maintenance and service to us. That's where our full service lease program entered the conversion, and we knew it was the perfect fit for their operation. Today they are driving away in this new Hino L7 with the confidence and knowledge that we will handle all the maintenance, repairs, and support, so they can stay focused on serving their customers!

We are incredibly proud to announce that we have added decals in support of Hospitals of Regina Foundation to 50 of our Hornoi Leasing Fleet Trucks!

Our partnership with Hospitals of Regina Foundation started back in 1999 when Sterling and Pat Hornoi first decided to start supporting the organization. Over the past 25+ years, that relationship has continued to grow alongside us, including our $1 million commitment in 2024 to support children receiving care through the Children's Cancer Clinic at the Regina General Hospital.

We have always believed that the most meaningful way to give back is by helping to provide exceptional health care for sick children and families across Saskatchewan. It’s partnerships like these that are a great reminder that when you support local Saskatchewan businesses like ourselves, those dollars are invested right back into the communities we call home.

We’re honoured to continue helping spread awareness for the incredible work that Hospitals of Regina Foundation does every day. Today we’re excited to congratulate Kris Devos of Kris Devos Trucking on picking up his newly-owned Volvo VNL760!

This beautiful baby blue VNL760 marks Kris’s first truck he’s purchased from us, and a fully loaded Volvo like this is ready to haul whatever Kris needs. Even though the weather was a little stormy on his pickup day, it certainly didn't dampen the excitement of seeing him finally drive away in his new ride.

One of the best parts of working with Kris has been getting to know him along the way. To this day Kris is always stopping by the shop to say hello and catch up with the team, and it's been a pleasure building that relationship throughout the buying process and beyond. Building new relationships with local owner-operators like Kris is the best part of doing what we do.
