Before we fix your vehicle, we think it's important that you get to know the people behind the tools. 🔧

This week, we'd like to introduce Zach Bruce , one of the newest members of the Red Deer Mechanics team.

Zach joined us earlier this year and has already become a great fit in the shop.

His specialties include alignments, engine work, and custom automotive projects, and he brings a genuine passion for vehicles to everything he works on.

Like many gearheads, Zach's interest in mechanics started young. Inspired by the Fast & Furious movies, he says he's always looked at vehicles as one giant set of Lego—just a little bigger, heavier, and with a few more moving parts.

When asked what his favorite part of the job is, his answer was simple: the Snap-on truck. Any mechanic reading this probably understands exactly why. 😄

One thing Zach wishes more people understood about vehicle maintenance is that some services need to be performed more often than many drivers realize. Staying on top of maintenance today can save a lot of headaches tomorrow.

As for his most memorable moment at Red Deer Mechanics so far? Watching Ryan nearly fall off a hoist immediately after reminding everyone to be safe. The lesson was memorable, even if the timing was questionable. 😂

What stands out most to Zach about Red Deer Mechanics is the atmosphere. He says the team feels more like family than coworkers, and that supportive environment is one of the things he enjoys most about coming to work every day.

We're happy to have Zach as part of the team and look forward to seeing him continue to grow with us.

Your brake fluid doesn’t just sit there… it actually absorbs moisture over time 😳

Yeah — even in a sealed system.
👉 Why that matters:
Water in your brake fluid lowers its boiling point, which can lead to:
• Soft or “spongy” brakes
• Reduced stopping power
• Brake fade during hard stops or long drives
• Internal corrosion in your brake system
And here’s the part almost nobody knows…

Most manufacturers recommend changing brake fluid every 2–3 years, but a huge number of vehicles on the road have NEVER had it done.

Meet the Team! 👋 Spotlight on Jordan

Hey Red Deer! It’s time for another Team Member Spotlight, and today we’re introducing you to Jordan, our awesome Service Manager who has been a vital part of the crew for almost a year now.

For Jordan, the automotive world is practically in her DNA. “It’s always been in my life,” she says—from going to car shows with her dad to playing with monster trucks and car mats as a kid. If it has wheels, she’s passionate about it! 🛻

When asked what her favorite part of the job is, it comes down to two things: the people and the purpose. She loves the fun the crew has working together while making sure we get your wheels back on the road safely and quickly. In fact, she describes the team dynamic in the shop as one "big dysfunctional family." 😆

That family mindset really showed up during one of her most memorable moments at the shop. Jordan was driving an old rig she's rebuilding, and out of nowhere, it started leaking diesel really badly. When she managed to pull back into the shop, the boys came running out to help her fix it so she could make it home. "That's how we are here," Jordan says. "Always down to help."

That exact "down to help" attitude extends right to our customers. Jordan knows firsthand that vehicle repairs can be expensive and stressful, which is why she works so hard to make sure everyone who walks through our doors is taken care of with as little stress as possible.

💡 Jordan’s Pro Tip: Don't skip your vehicle maintenance! She wants every customer to know that regular maintenance is the absolute most important part of keeping your vehicle running well. Without it, your vehicle will crater!
