Stride Place to Be Opened as a Community Cooling Centre During Heat Wave

The dome of intense heat that has been in place over western Canada has moved into Manitoba and Environment Canada has forecast daytime highs in the mid- to upper thirties this weekend.

In response to this heat wave, Stride Place will be accessible as an air-conditioned drop-in cooling centre for members of the public to find temporary relief from the heat, access to water and a water bottle filling station.

The cooling centre will be open from 6:00 am – 9:00 pm on Friday July 2, Saturday July 3 and Sunday July 4. Access to the facility will be available through the south doors. In accordance with COVID-19 safety protocols, cooling centre attendees will be required to sign in at reception, wear masks and continue to practice physical distancing while inside the facility.

Hope everybody is doing well and healthy during our Covid times.

The shop still extremely busy with the seasonal tire changeovers. We are lucky to be seeing new customers we haven’t seen before. With this we are seeing some issues with some of the previous work being done out there. We are getting many call for pricing of switching tires over. Some say we are more then others. Well let’s take a look at what a cheaper option gives you. I will just give you pictures of 1 wheel of a new customer. Other wheels were similar but this was the worst one. This may seem trivial to some but this concerns me. If they can’t balance properly can they install the tire on the vehicle properly? Its the little things that makes the difference.
Difference in price? Don’t know and doesn’t matter. This was money thrown away.

Let’s not forget another very important thing. Get your tires re-torqued after 100km! There are reasons for this. If the shop that has done your tires doesn’t tell you come back for it. Seriously consider a different service provider. This is a industry standard. This is a no cost service. If you aren’t told and/or have a reminder left in your vehicle after a tire service your shop is lazy and not concerned for your safety. This is customer service. Stop by if your a customer of ours or not I will personally do it myself and educate you why it’s so important. Or you can GOOGLE it. Lol.
