Gloucester Pool Sailing School

Gloucester Pool Sailing School We offer 1 week, and 2 week programs for children from 8 to 16 to learn to sail. Beginners are introduced to and taught the basic skills of sailing.

Our program follows the NEW Canadian Yachting Association and Ontario Sailing Association qualification structure. Please be assured that we will make sure that everyone is placed into the appropriate level based on what levels they have previously received. White Sail Levels I, II and III are equivalent to the new CANSail Levels 1 and 2 and are the introductory levels. These levels cover safety,

seamanship and boat handling in winds to 9 knots velocity. Bronze Sail Levels IV and V are equivalent to the new CANSail Levels 3 and 4 and are levels where sailors are introduced to advanced sailing techniques, including sail trim, boat tuning, and boat maintenance. After completing the bronze standards, sailors are competent in winds up to 25 km/hr. There are also two levels for after CANSail 4 that are dedicated to learning how to trapeze and use a spinnaker. We are looking forward to a great season and can't wait to be back on the water! Our sessions are as follows:
Session 1: July 2 to July 6
Session 2: July 9 to July 13
Session 3: July 16 to July 20
Session 4: July 23 to July 27
Session 5: July 30 to August 3
Session 6: August 6 to August 10
