A dinged prop costs you speed, fuel, and your lower unit. Catch it on the trailer, not at the ramp.

Two minutes, no tools:
☑ Scan the blades for dings, bends, and cracks
☑ Spin it and pull any fishing line behind the hub before it lets water into your gearcase
☑ Revs up, boat slow? That's a spun hub

First boat this season? Photograph the prop now. You'll spot any change at a glance later.

There's nothing quite like the first stretch of real summer weather around here.

The yard's been a happy kind of busy all day, boats and yachts coming and going, everyone clearly itching to get back out on the water. Here's a bit of what we've had on the go:

☑ Spring commissioning and maintenance, getting boats ready
☑ Everything from powerful outboards to full repowers
☑ Fishing boats next to yachts, they all get the same care

If you've been meaning to get yours sorted, we'd love to help. 📞 Give us a call at (604) 936-4602 or drop us a DM and we'll sort out a time.

Turn the key, and your Mercury just cranks and cranks? After months of sitting idle, it's almost always one of a few easy-to-spot things.

You back the boat down the ramp, and a motor that turns over fine but won't fire is missing one of three:

☑ Old fuel. Gas that's been in the tank since fall has had months to go stale, and it gums up the lines, filter, and injectors.
☑ Worn-out plugs. A damp winter leaves them fouled, and a weak spark can't light even fresh fuel.
☑ The basics everyone forgets. Lanyard clipped in, motor in neutral, primer bulb firm. You'd be amazed at how often that's the whole problem.

Whatever you do, don't just sit there cranking. You'll flood the motor and kill the battery you need to get home.

👉 The order to check them in, and the one cause that means stop cranking right now, are in the full guide https://zurl.co/Iz4gL

A lot of service awards get handed out for show. Ours came from the people who actually paid for the work.

It's the 2025 Mercury Service CSI Award, and the score comes from real post-warranty surveys, 94 and up out of 100. We didn't pick that number. Our customers gave it to us after their warranty work was long done.

So when your boat's up on our bench, that score is what you're getting:

☑ The work lasts, because folks rate us after the job, not before
☑ Mercury-authorized techs who've worked BC water for 30+ years
☑ Canada's largest Mercury dealer that still knows your boat by name

Worth getting in before the summer rush. 📞 Give us a call: (604) 936-4602.

Why do Silver Streak boats hold their value? Two reasons, one that most sellers skip.

First, they're all-welded aluminum, so there are no rivets or seals to loosen and leak. Second, here in BC, rugged aluminum boats are exactly what buyers are hunting for.

Here's the honest bit:

☑ Aluminum doesn't win everywhere, but in BC's fishing scene, it holds its value beautifully
☑ A clean service history moves the needle more than the badge on the bow
☑ Pair it with a well-kept Mercury, and you're selling a boat that's ready to go, not a project

Look after it, keep your records, and the boat pays you back when it's time to sell.

Another repower done right.

Yesterday the team swapped out an old engine and dropped in a fresh MerCruiser 3.0L TKS, 135 HP, carburetted Turn Key Start, the kind of sterndrive a lot of BC boaters have run for years.

A repower keeps you in the boat you already know, often for a fraction of buying new. We aligned it, dialled it in, and water-tested it before it went anywhere.

Thinking about a repower? Give us a shout.

There's something about watching a boat fly that never gets old.

The travelift picks the hull up out of the water and carries it into the wash bay, then holds it right there in the slings while the crew gets to work. Suspended like that, they can reach the whole bottom, all the way around, no spots missed.

☑ Zero-runoff bay, so the growth and paint residue we blast off stays out of the inlet
☑ Multi-stage filtration catches the paint particles before any water leaves the site
☑ A clean hull just runs better, less drag, better fuel economy, happier coatings

Booking a haul-out before a project, survey, or antifouling job?

Fishing season is almost here. Is your boat ready for early summer, or just hoping it fires up on the first try?

A few things sideline anglers every spring:
☑ A dried-out impeller that overheats the engine on the first hot day
☑ Old fuel and a clogged filter behind most rough idles and stalls
☑ A weak battery that reads full but won't crank cold

A spring service check sorts all of it at the dock. And before you launch, grab your B.C. Tidal Waters Sport Fishing License, plus a Salmon Conservation Stamp if you are keeping salmon.

📞 Book early at (604) 936-4602, before the June calendar fills up.

Don't be the boat blocking the ramp this May long weekend.

The most preventable launch-day problems are the simple ones. Drain plug left at home. Bilge blower skipped. Tell-tale not flowing on first start.

Each one is fixable in five minutes at the driveway, and each one can turn a long weekend launch into a tow line.

Three habits cover almost all of it:
☑ Inspection at home, not at the ramp
☑ Same ramp sequence, every time
☑ Tell-tale check within 30 seconds of first start

That's basically the whole list. Run those three, and you'll be off the ramp and on the water with time to spare.
