💥🔧 WHAT’S WRONG WEDNESDAY — THE REVEAL! 🔧💥

Knock knock. 🚪
Who’s there?
Connecting rod.
Connecting rod who?
CONNECTING ROD COMING THROUGH! 💥😂

Yep… that rod decided the inside of the engine just wasn’t spacious enough and made its own exit through the block. 😭

🛢️ So what happened?

This engine hadn’t been getting regular oil changes, was eventually run with NO oil, and was knocking before it finally let go. 🔨😬

Safe to say… the knocking was NOT somebody at the door. 😂

No oil ➡️ no lubrication
No lubrication ➡️ KNOCK KNOCK 🔨
Ignore the knocking ➡️ SURPRISE! New inspection hole! 👀💥

And because apparently that wasn’t expensive enough…

💨 The turbo blew too. 💀💸

And turbos REALLY don’t appreciate being starved of oil! 🛢️ Turbochargers spin at extremely high speeds and rely on a steady supply of clean engine oil to lubricate and protect their internal bearings. Without it, things can go bad very quickly. 💨🔥

✨ Moral of the story:

🛢️ Change your oil.
💨 Your turbo needs that oil too!
👂 Listen when your engine starts making new noises.
🎶 And no, turning the radio up doesn’t make the knocking go away. 😂

Oil changes are a LOT cheaper than an engine AND a turbo! 😭💰💰💰

✅ What’s Wrong Wednesday — The Reveal! 🔧

Thanks to everyone who took a guess! 👏

The answer was… a torn CV axle boot! 👀

That boot helps keep grease around the CV joint while keeping dirt, water, and debris out. Once it tears, grease can escape and contamination can get in — which can eventually lead to premature wear or even CV joint failure. ⚠️

🔍 Signs to watch for:
🛞 Grease splattered around the wheel or suspension
🔊 Clicking while turning
🚗 Vibration while driving
⚠️ Visible cracking or tearing in the boot

Catching it early can sometimes mean a much smaller repair than waiting until the joint itself is damaged. 💰🔧

The answer? This oil filter was left on for too long between oil changes. However, there can be many reasons oil filters begin collapsing.

Over time, an oil filter fills with dirt, carbon, and other contaminants. Once it reaches its capacity, it can’t filter oil as effectively, which means your engine may be circulating dirtier oil than it should.

⚠️ Regular oil and filter changes help:

🛢️ Keep your engine clean
⚙️ Reduce unnecessary engine wear

When was the last time you changed your cabin air filter? 🤔

It’s one of the most overlooked maintenance items on your vehicle, but it helps keep the air inside your car clean and your heating and A/C working efficiently. 🌬️❄️

⚠️ Signs it may be time for a replacement:
🍂 Weak airflow
👃 Musty smells
🤧 More dust or allergy symptoms

Most cabin air filters should be checked or replaced every 20,000–30,000 km, depending on your driving conditions.
