One fast lane l**e shop did not have enough time to remove the glue from the previous oil change sticker. Another fast lane l**e shop did not even have enough time to remove the previous sticker. If a fast lane l**e tech doesn’t have enough time to replace a sticker properly, what else are they doing improperly during the oil change service. On February 4th 2022 during my meeting with MP Michelle Ferreri regarding "The Right to Repair" issue, the Honorable member of Windsor West, Brian Masse, tabled a Right to Repair bill in the House of Commons.
During the original voluntary agreement between the automakers and the aftermarket, the Honorable Minister Tony Clement stated "if this issue cannot be resolved within this agreement, then there will be no alternative except to pass this bill to legislation."
Well this agreement is no longer working and Canadian consumers need to be protected.

I met with J F Champagne and Alana Baker "President" and "Senior Director of Government Relations" for the Automotive Industries Association of Canada to discuss the important issues of "The Right to Repair."

In September 2009 the automakers and the aftermarket signed a voluntary agreement called the Canadian Automotive Service Information Standards (CASIS).  To summarize the agreement, automakers agreed to release any information, training, and equipment necessary to work on newer vehicles to the aftermarket industry by May 2010 for a fair price. This agreement is crucial for the survival of the aftermarket industry.  While this agreement worked well for the traditional vehicles of that era, for the aftermarket to be able to properly fix today's vehicles and for a truly open, fair and competitive aftermarket to continue to exist, consumers need to be protected by legislation.
