Larsen’s Trail Tire would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has worked tirelessly, often under extreme conditions, to protect the town of Summerland and our family home.

Our hearts are with everyone who has been affected by this devastating fire, especially those who have lost their homes and everything they own. We are heartbroken for some of our close friends who are among those facing this unimaginable loss.

To the firefighters including those from other cities, provinces, and countries, the RCMP, BC Emergency Health Services, District of Summerland crews, RDOS, Search and Rescue volunteers from across the province, numerous volunteers, and everyone working around the clock to protect our community — thank you. Your courage, dedication, and selflessness are truly beyond words.

We are incredibly grateful for our community and for everyone who continues to stand together during this difficult time.

This is Jen Annett. She is a local superstar. She just won Ultraman Canada Triathlon here in the Okanagan and blew the womens course record away by a huge margin. This win qualifies her to compete in the worlds championship in Hawaii. I think she has a shot to be the fastest in the world at this distance: double the distance of a full Ironman distance.

To me, it’s so absolutely incredible to be able to complete an event of that scale with such excellence, it’s inspired me to donate to help get her to the worlds. It’s a pretty expensive journey but it would be a shame to miss the chance to see what she can do. I’m excited to take a part in this.

It’s gonna take a lot to get her there so I would like to challenge other people and businesses to also take part and donate whatever amount they feel comfortable with to help build the funds she needs to be successful at this.
