So this took a couple days but full race report for the classic at Kamloops... This was a awesome weekend in the S&S pits..
First off thank you to everyone at TVRC hard work.... Dayton and Kyles track design and build was awesome.. The Race Directors Tyrell, Dayton, Jason, and Ethan keeping the weekend going. All the sponsors at the event prizes and machinery and audio equipment that make these events happen.
Second the little man did awesome this is one of his favorite events since its always right around his birthday. It was little rough of qualifying first round he came out consistent putting down lap after lap even with all the other mayhem that happens in novice... He had a lot of pressure all weekend from Hendrix and Madden. Second round the wind picked up a bit and a couple parachutes got him but he finished strong. Third round he had a screw back out and lost all his steering and died out. so he got to watch a round and he was cool about it kept his emotions in check knowing breaks happen some times....
Even with a late start we finished at a good time to get back to the hotel, which was kinda nice honestly to get some work on my cars as I was struggling a bit with my nitro which took focus away from my 4mod buggy... After getting some advice from Pete with the nitro buggy it came it great for my B main but rookie mistake I charged all my batteries for bump box, ignitor, remote and I forgot to charge my servo battery and car died had no good right after a awesome pit stop from one of the best rookie pit guys ever Kyle (not the same Kyle as mentioned above). as for 4 mod I mad the bump from the B main started dead last... car felt great I was just missing the flow a bit but still had one of my best drives was quite excited that i only got put down 1 lap on track by the leader im usually a couple laps behind the lead pack but #2 never got the lap on me.... Second main was an even better run i managed to pull a 4th place stick on the lead lap not far behind the top 3 which was awesome.... round 3 not gonna lie was as focused as i should of been...only got about 3 laps in and my top shock mount screw broke and i just went with it getting a few laps in as it was the last race of the day then parked it before the race fished..
So wasn't as focused after round 2 and I don't think the little man was either we were on a bit of a winning high cause of the raffle we ended up wining 3 out of the 4 rc car kits which is just crazy.. we did get rid of the 2 associated kits 1 to a new racer and 1 to a racer who is gonna enjoy the upgrade from what he was running..... And little man will be running the Tekno sct410.2..
As for his A mains he had a great run. He qualified 2nd came out hot and pretty much held the race from lap one on taking the win... round 2 he seemed focus as can be getting a lot of pressure all race from Madden but still held his own taking win again and only need 2 1st for the trophy so he was a happy camper followed by the raffle win he wasn't really focused for his race at all he barely got his battery charged in time and looked like he was trying different lines and but wasn't working out the same as ended up in the pack and was having troubles but had fun anyways.
All around it was one the best weekends with some of my best friends around.. Chris best friend always has that spare part or advice or even just that box of timbits is always there haha... Kyle as always not only the awesome big brother to all the kids making sure they are all running and fixed still finding time to pit for me in nitro dude headsets will be ordered before next race haha he got to do 1 pit stop all weekend and it was one of the best stops ever especially with out having a speed fill bottle totally my bad for not having a charged battery and not putting that pit stop to good use... Wade always with the best advice not just on the track but off as well total reason i run nitro always willing to help me keep it running and tuned... Mark and his kids keeping the pit entertaining and Corbin distracted and having fun haha, Happy birthday buddy. The "mike and mike" crew from the coast cant wait till I'm chasing the Kyosho down haha
All the TVRC guys that make it fun every year Sheldon, Schawaga, Rob, the Kelowna guys was awesome to see how many are out there especially the new guys nice to see, Darren and Curt are always awesome for a good laugh and fun pit area.....
Its was awesome meeting the Prince George guys and getting to see all the video from the event.
The Coquitlam guys Troy, Evan, Jordyn, Brandon always fun racing and bullsh*tting and fun...
